View Full Version : Do You Wake Up Happy?

I've never understood people who wake up grumpy first thing in the morning (ie. ex-husband, current boyfriend sometimes). What could have made you grouchy overnight??!! I'd say 99% of the time I wake up feeling great, ready to go take on the day, and happy.
I also am totally awake right away, but I have a girlfriend who wanders around her house from room to room waking up. And so many people feel they must have their coffee to wake up too (which I don't drink).
Just wondering if other women wake up happy or not.

I usually wake up in a good mood, I'm actually a morning person ( DH and I get up at 5-5.30am everyday) it's more night time that I get abit grumpy especially if it's been a stressful day and I'm tired.
However today soon turned to grumpy mode, I walked into the kitchen and the dishwasher had leaked. That is is one thing that will set me off first thing, a messy or untidy kitchen, I always go to bed with a clean kitchen and like to wake up to one!!
Oh well I guess it will prompt me to finally go out and get a new one.

I'm quiet in the mornings. And luckily I don't have to talk to anyone when I first wake up! And sometimes I wake up grumpy depending on how I am woken up. Radio....okay....loud banging...not okay.

I wake up neutral... unless I had a bad dream. I like to ease into the day and take a few minutes for myself to start off the day off right.

For the most part I wake up in a good mood. I am always wishing I had longer to sleep, but I dont doddle over it. When you have a 4 yr old in your face and excited to start the day, it is hard to be cranky even if I wanted to.

Don't mess with me in the morning! Until I get some caffiene in me at least, and then it's still not a good idea to come too close.
My brother was the only one in my family growing up that woke up happy. I used to remember hearing him getting up early (in high school) so he could enjoy a cup of coffee before we went to school. He was also always humming to himself. His being cheerful never helped my mood!

Well, I wake up happy that I'm among the living, but I'm not a morning person and I try to get a few more minutes between the sheets. It takes me awhile to get my rear in gear. On weekends, I'll stay in my jammies for a couple of hours while I read the paper and have my tea. However, if I have to be somewhere, I shower and dress immediately.

I usually wake up in an o.k. mood but I an a late riser getting up around 8.30 each day, but i generally don't go to bed until after 1pm as I work to 10.30pm and I like to read once I get home. My husband wakes up at 5.30 each day and bounces out of bed always in a happy mood. He has learnt not to wake me up.Our children have taken after him and one child even sings in the morning which is a lovely thing.

Oh my! Please don't block the way to the coffee pot! and I dont want much conversation until after the second cup. My MIL lives with us and she chats away at me in the mornings...I honestly have no idea what all she says to me.

I am not a morning person. Never really ever in a good mood in the morning.

I used to be unbearable in the mornings.
Then my daughter was born and I decided that I couldn't be that way with her, so I consciously changed my A.M. attitude!
To this day (22 years later!) I like mornings best.
I hate mornings but who can be grumpy when your child looks at you with a huge smile and cannot wait to start the day. My 15 yr old DD hates mornings and gets irritated that her brother is "so" happy that early in the morning. She actually was thrilled when his bus came the other day because his giggling was getting on her nerves....nope she is not a morning person at all. My hubby is fine as long a no one talks to him for about an half an hour, and if you do you will only get a grunt for a reply.
