I like all kinds from the old hymns, to some of the heavy rock my son listens to. Right now I'd say my favorite bands are Third Day, Chris Tomlin, and The David Crowder Band. I just got to see Third Day and David Crowder in concert again, they were great.
My chuch has been doing Third Days version of Amazing Grace, my hands still want to go up in the air when I think of the chorus
Hallelugah grace like rain falls down on me
Hallelugah all my stains are washed away, washed away

What kinds of music stir you?

Hi Michelle,

My favorite band is Third Day. My two favorite songs are "Come On Back to Me" and "Your Are Mine." I also love the groups Castings Crowns, Jars of Clay, Switchfoot and the Newboys. The song "I Can Only Imagine" by MercyMe helped me through the death of my Mom. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in July of 2004. We were told that she lost the battle at the beginning of December and we spent the month keeping her comfortable with hospice's help. I would get in my car and drive and listen to "I Can Only Imagine."

I have always loved to listen to contemporary Christian music as it speaks so much to me about where I am in life.

I still like Steven Curtis Chapman even after all these years. Point of Grace, Michael W Smith are still high on the list. And in the past few years I have added Chris Rice and Mercy Me to the list. I love contemporary christian music.

It depends on the setting I am in. When I am in a worship service I prefer the worshipful music of the hymn writers. Those that reflect the service and the message. There are so many wonderful hymns and there are hymn writers today, they are not all very old.

When I want entertainment, concert or get in the mood to move type music, I go for some of the contemporary groups. I hear a lot of Jars of Clay and Switchfoot in my house (DS has quite a CD library) and other favorites have been Audio Adrenaline, Lost and Found among some of the ones already mentioned.

So for me, it depends on many things as to what I listen to and I like a variety of styles.

I like southern Gospel music. The Hoppers are one of my favorites. I also like the Bill Gaither Homecomings.

Hi! I am new, and I wanted to tell you that I really like Nicole C. Mullen, and Kathy Trocolli! I really like the worship song, "This is the noise I make", but I don't know who does it.

I actually miss some of the old CCM stuff from about 5-10 years ago. I enjoy a lot of the females: Susan Ashton (man, her voice is amazing!), Sarah Masen, Ginny Owens and Amy Grant and Point of Grace (I really haven't like their latest albums) and Nicole Nordeman. Other groups I enjoy are Casting Crowns and Switchfoot.

Ah...Kathy Tocolli...she has been one of my favorites for years! Anyone remember a group called Mylon Lefevre and Broken Heart? They were a big favorite and Petra also...boy, I'm really telling my age!

Yes, I remember them. :D Speaking of Petra, remember Stryper?? I think I was too young when they first came out, but I remember when the lead singer Michael Sweet made a comeback with a cd or two. My youth leader loved him, so I got to go with them and meet him! He has long hair and I remember that he smelled good. lol.

Lucky you Kathy! Tell your buddy thanks from this fan, his words stir this soul into worship. I remember Petra too, they did a concert at our city fair a few years ago. I remember standing outside singing "When Will The World See That They Need Jesus" it was a hot summer day and the sun was shinning, just beautiful.

I know they are country songs, but I love the songs, "When I get where I'm going" and "Jesus take the wheel".

My favorites were always Larnelle Harris and Sandi Patty. Remember them???? I don't recognize too many of the names you have listed, just Michael Smith and Amy Grant. I enjoy my church music very much and that is most of what I listen to.
