February 3 is National Wear Red Day by the American Heart Association. You can participate by wearing red however you'd like to wear it. Read more from the American Heart Association. (http://americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=3034393)

National Wear Red Day for Women, February 3, 2006, has its own dress code. On this day, you’re free to Go Red in your own fashion. Wear your favorite red clothes or accessory—a red blouse, a red dress pin, red lipstick—carry a fabulous red handbag or sport a red tie and red socks … and show some heart for heart disease prevention.

Too few people realize that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women—and of men—but the good news is that heart disease can largely be prevented. Spreading the Go Red For Women message—Love your heart—raises awareness of heart disease and empowers women to reduce their risk. And as you encourage everyone in your organization to wear red on Wear Red Day, you’ll be sharing with them the tools and information they need to protect themselves and their loved ones.

So feel free to wear red on February 3 and give recognition to this association and to your heart. :superman:

I like that. I am going to wear red, but I am also going to mark that day as a "Family Cardio Challenge Kickoff" day. That gives us a little time to decide our goals and methods. I was thinking we would set our goals for one year, but now i think that may be too long and we should have monthy "check ins". I'm excited about this! Of course, we will have to all wear red for our kickoff day in support of AHA.

I will wear red for sure - it's one of my favorite colors for clothes so I'll have a choice.
I'd like to get my hubby a little more health concious too, but he's been pretty resistant so far. :(

Yes, too few people know that heart disease is the number 1 killer in women.
Thank goodness there are things we can do to help prevent this disease, which is not always true with other diseases in women.

Maybe if enough people wear red, someone will ask about it and maybe it will save a life.

Marking Feb. 3 :)

That's way cool, as my kids would say. While I'm not in the US, I can certainly wear red on that day... and let my friends and co-workers know why I'm doing it!!!!

I remembered! I wore my red track pants (and white shirt) to Curves today. Red makes me feel energetic!

I had some banking business to do today and the lobby was filled with red shirts and posters about Wear red day.

It was encouraging to see so many!

Wow! That is great to hear! We had a ton of people at the hospital wearing red. I didn't have any red to go with my scrubs, so I wore some pink. It's a shade of red. ;) But it was nice to see even guys wearing red button down shirts!
