So far, everything is working great! And everything looks great too! I will let you know if I find any bugs. :D

I did just have a problem when I was starting a new thread. When I went to preview, I got a message saying that I wasn't logged in, yet I could see my name at the top of the forum.

I was able to log in again and post my thread.

I may just have a setting wrong or something in my CP, but thought I would report it here just in case. ;)

Thanks Kim. I'm having trouble Logging-out. I'll pass this on to Logician to tweak. I suspect there is something wrong with the cookies...

P.S. I had no problems at all replying to threads, it was only when I started a new thread. Could've just been a coincidence, but thought it was worth noting.

P.S. Am I upgraded yet so I can use the good smilies? ;)

Upgraded smilies waiting for you....plus enjoy making up your own custom title by editing your profile. ;)

Oh, this little bug made me laugh! When trying to use the smilies for present and party, which are encased with colons when in the typing box, they show up instead as :present: and  which isn't quite what I was expecting. Thought you'd like to know that this needs a bit of debugging. Thanks for the great site!

OK, found another one......this one turns the Oh, my gosh (which is omg surrounded by colons) into :omg: Definitely have had some giggles tonight. :D

Okie, try those again with *present* *omg* * omg * instead....

Hi there

The CONTACT US and ABOUT US buttons have disappeared at the top of the page until my mouse is over either one.

Yes, I've been told about this by others using Internet explorer. We will be fixing that! Thanks for the heads up!

:hello:Kathy,
So far have not had any problems on this web site:thumbsup:

I really enjoy & love this new web site! Kathy, Great Idea:thankyou:

On the special smilies, why is the harp playing angel not on there? I really like that smilie!

I use AOL. When I get email notifications from Hystersisters, there is always a clickable link to the thread. Is it possible to have clickable links in the GGG email notifications as well?

Kathy

I just did a little tweak on the email. Let me know if the AOL link works...or if I messed it up? :D

I have reset my preference a couple of times about being emailed on the threads I am subscribed to. It has been to no avail. I get email EVERY time. And since I post a lot, that's a lot of email! :)

Changing your prefs is from this moment forward. It won't stop the threads already subscribed to...yesterday.

Click the link at the bottom of the threads you are getting. Or go into your usercpanel and see the subscribed threads list. Click to unsubscribe. That stops the old prefs. Then Set the prefs in your options to NO to receive email (or daily digest is good for a once a day update)

Hope this helps!

Hi Kathy,
Each time I sign in I check the remember case. But it does not remember. I have to sign in again each time I come to the site.

If you are logging off each time you leave the site you will have to log on every time you return. The "remember me" is to set yourself so that you don't log off...and when you return, you will be still logged in.

Try it and see if this helps?

Thanks, Kathy. Guess I should have figured that out!

That's what I thought it is for. I don't log off. But each time I come back I have to log in again. I participate in a few different forums so I am quite familiar with this feature. I also know that if you delete the cookies you have to log in again. But I haven't deleted any cookies since signing up with this forum.

Hi Kathy,
One problem I noticed is that when I want to read the most current post on a particular thread, I have to scroll down from the begining of the thread to get to the last post. It can be quite annoying if it's a popular thread. Shouldn't I be able to jump to the last post automatically?

The smilie :celebrate isn't the one listed in the list.
The one in the list has hats and is blowing a horn. A minor glitch ;) but thought I would mention it. :D

Just thought I'd mention that sometimes I have trouble adding smilies! :thankyou:

Can you be more specific? What problems are you having specifically?

Sometimes I just can't add the smilies. I keep trying to add it & nothing happens.

Sounds like a moment when you can reboot your browser since the smilies are working just fine on this end. Sounds like it might be low on memory in your browser. If this is when you are clicking the smilies from the smilies list, try typing the smilies instead using the characaters. The missing clicking action means something isn't right on the user end not the website end of things. ;)

Kathy,

I don't have a New Thread button to post a New Thread. Am I missing it?

Kathy
02-20-2006, 08:39 AM
New thread button is on the forum display page,

http://www.girlsgetgoing.com/forumdisplay.php?f=58

not the thread. I'll work to get the New Thread button put onto the threads soon.

Kathy,
I just posted and the time for the post was an hour off-later than my mountain time here. Is that me? Do I need to change something in my settings? I honestly don't know if I my others have been correct or not. This is the first time I noticed a problem though.
One more- just wondering do we get timed out here? I have a few times signed in, started reading, maybe even gotten distracted on another site.... hehe...then come back and tried to post and I was logged off.
Thank you for your help!

Kathy

I just posted and my time is right. I think you will need to reset your time zone in your options?

Kathy
02-20-2006, 07:00 PM
Ohh...I meant to comment on the "time out". The time out is set for 15 minutes of inactivity. This shouldn't cause you to log-back-in though. Make sure when you log in to check the box "Remember Me". This will keep you logged in, even if the time-out happens becuase of inactivity....because your cookie will be set to re-enter the site without logging in.

I was wondering if there was a good reason to check that box!!! Oh, and had my time zone set wrong.
Thank you :bliss:

Hi! Am enjoying browsing through the forum - thanks so much for setting it up! I do have some trouble following some of the discussions, though, especially when folks don't quote. Any chance of enabling vBulletin's Hybrid and Thread modes so people can choose what they prefer? I find them both a lot easier to deal with than Linear. Just an idea ... excellent job on this site!
