I have 5 weeks of Nutrisystem food on the way to my house and the determination to stick with the plan, drink lots of water, and do some sort of exercise every day!! Extra pounds have creeped up on me since my hysterectomy and I'm looking forward to dropping some weight.

In the past (quite a few years ago) I lost 38 pounds using Nutrisystem. Back then you attended classes and went to a center for your food every week. Now it's simplified with online food ordering and journals for food and exercise, and support.

My boyfriend will be 'on his own' during these 5 weeks so that I don't have to shop for and prepare his meals. He's already committed to eating healthy with me, thank goodness, so there won't be temptations around the house!

I think the idea of not having to really cook meals for 5 weeks is appealing to me too! Plus now that it's getting hotter here, eating lighter will be easier.

Nutrisystem's current offer of buying 4 weeks and getting 1 week of food free makes it more affordable. Plus there's a $15 off coupon I can send to anyone interested.

I know any healthy eating plan can work, and this is my choice due to its simplicity. I'm excited and anxious for my shipment to arrive!

Good luck with your weight loss. I also had a hysterectomy and it is harder to lose after isn't it? :( But, I am finally starting to see the scale move down instead of up! :yahooo: I wish you the best and I hope you enjoy your food! :queen:

Hi Joyce. I'm rooting for you! I've used Nutrisystem in the past and I had really good results. This time, I decided to use Slim-fast. I started today. I need a strict regimen to get me going. My DH has agreed to make sure he and the DDs are feed each day. This will make it much easier for me to get a handle on this weight problem. I'm also using Estrin-D. I swore I would never take a diet pill, but I am having a really hard time beating the fatigue since my hysterectomy. Just think, this time next year...we'll be slender!

I have started using all my Weight Watchers info again, last spring before I had my hyster done I lost 20 pounds felt great and fit into nicer looking clothes NOW almost 1 year later I have gained 12 pounds back and havent gone back to my old eating habits and have increased my excerise each day , the weight just appeared and I cant get it back off either !! I did have some thyroid tests done and will find out about the results on Friday...
Its so discouraging to see the scale go up !!!

Amen, Sisters! I work out and hike and don't go crazy with the eating, but since my hyst losing weight is soooo hard.

Lately I've been pretty fatigued too. I have a Dr's appointment next week and I think I'll ask for thyroid tests to be done.

And of course getting older doesn't help things either!

I'm anxious to begin the Nutrisystem.

I'm loving the nutrisystem program and foods so far. The convenience is great! Just reach into the pantry for a breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert item. I started mid-day Sunday and my scale is down 4.5 pounds. Woo hoo!

And the bulletin board at NS is so helpful. My questions get answered within minutes and everyone is really friendly and helpful and supportive.

Keep this thread alive if you're on Nutrisystem and post here. There is also a $15 off coupon I can email anyone interested.

I cant justify the cost , if it were just me okay BUT I need to also buy groceries for my family too ... I would be working just to buy food

My NS food worked out to $57/week. I figure with buying lettuce and some fruit and veggies, round that up to $75/week. That calculates to $3.50 per meal. And you get desserts too! I think it's actually saving me money because DBF is buying food for himself now, instead of me buying everything!

At first I thought nutrisystem was super expensive..then I started keeping track of all my grocery expenditures. And it was a LOT more than I realized.

HI OCC_GURL Are you still doing the nutrisystem? How is the food? What do you add extra to your day beside their food? I have been sitting on a order form all filled out but i am afraid the food will be yucky :( Let me know Anybody else out there try it yet?

Yes, the nutrisystem is going good so far (I'm down 6.5 pounds - wish it were more, but it seems my body wants to hang on to that weight!)

I love the convenience of the foods and love looking forward to a dessert every day. If you would like me to send you a coupon for $15 off your first order, just post or send me your email address. Joyce

On the Women's Plan, here's what you eat:

BREAKFAST
1 NS breakfast entree
1 fruit
1 dairy or protein

LUNCH
1 NS lunch entree
salad (unlimited)
1 dairy or protein

SNACK
1 fruit
1 dairy or protein

DINNER
1 NS dinner entree
2 servings vegetables
1 fruit or salad
1 fat serving

DESSERT
1 NS dessert item

And of course, 8 full 8 oz glasses of water per day. I've also been putting together some of the creative recipes NS users have come up with. Here's where those can be found:

I should clarify the above just a bit....

If you have over 100 pounds to lose, you also consume one carbohydrate serving at breakfast and dinner, and one fuit serving at lunch.
