A few months ago I bit the bullet and changed my hairstyle. I have thought about it a few times, but was afraid of changing. My hair has pretty much been the same for a long time. While I may curl it differently, or maybe put it up, it was basically the same. I found a picture of a hairstyle that I thought would look nice on me and took it into my hairdresser. My eyes were closed the entire time she was cutting and styling. ;)

I absolutely love the new style! When I walked out of the hair salon I felt soooo good.

The style is easier to maintain, no more perms for me. It is more natural so I put less chemicals in my hair. It was quite a change for me, but I am so glad that I did it.

How about it ladies? Anyone else opt for a different look recently.

This brought a smile to my face! Just this week, I went to have my hair "foiled". I have done this many times to work the silver/gray into my hair so it's not so pronounced around my face. Well.... a new gal did it and I walked out of there with a red skunk tail down the right side of the back of my head. I went back to have it fixed and am now a blonde  Everytime I walk by a mirror I am startled at that stranger staring back at me. Hopefully in a few weeks it will have grown enough and been washed enough that I will start looking like myself again. Needless to say, I will rely on my old stylist to foil my hair again.

Do blondes really have more fun? I'll let ya know...lol.

:D I am blonde, not sure how much fun I am anymore. LOL Although I used to use that line alot when I was younger "blondes have more fun" ;)

Be sure and share with us your experience as a blonde. :)

I was kind of forced into a different hairstyle in the last couple of years. You see, I had to have chemo and I lost it all. I thought now is the perfect time for a change. As it grew back, I have undergone several different styles, partly because it came back curly and then straightened out.

I had to change stylists this fall as the one I had moved. This girl has come up with a great cut for me. After using a couple of styling products, I can either blow it dry or just let it dry and then comb. Either way, looks pretty good. Unfortunately, I don't have a good photo of me with this new cut.

I haven't really changed my style lately. I tend to change my hair color more. :) But I do love going the salon to have my hair done. I feel so 'clean and new' when I leave. It's a great pick-me-up.

My SIL is studying to become a beautician and I became her guinea pig, oops Aveda calls them "models" in december. My hair had been in pretty much the same style for about 10 years and my SIL cut it and then colored and highlighted it. I was her first ever highlight job. My BIL was nervous (I don't know why... it was my head and I wasn't nervous). My hair is shorter than it has been in years (just BARELY below my shoulders), but it looks great. And there are some definate rewards to having a SIL that is a beautician! No one will know how grey I get! Best of all I was able to spend the day with her, and she was able to hone her new skills on someone that loves her. Everyone should be this lucky to have talent in the family!

I love this! She's a lucky girl :)

I am so glad you asked this question. About 6 months ago I finally gave my hairdresser, whom I trust implicitly, free reign with my hairstyle. Well she CUT it. Was I shocked. It took me all of about an hour to get used to it and I loved it. Since then I have only gone shorter. After changing my hairstyle she challenged me to a color change as well and we have had a lot of fun with it. I have never been happier.
I have to admit I do have a really great hairstylist/colorist so it does make a big difference, but I would say to anyone if you trust your stylist and are ready for a change, maybe start slow but go for it! I talked my girlfriend into it after sending her to my stylist and she loves her hair much more now as well. :)

I've had the same hairstyle forever, but I'm also afraid of change. I've always had long hair & I only go for trims every six months for slight variations to my style such as adding face framing layers & long layers all over to refresh my style. The only reason I color is because of those darn grey hairs & I choose shades that are close to my natural colour which is dark brown & avoid highlights because of the monthly hassle of retouching roots. I use a dark auburn color from Loreal Preference which seems to bring out highlights & is easy maintenance for me. ;) I don't plan to cut my hair any time soon & I think I'd feel naked without it!
