My doctor told me today that I have Adrenal Fatigue and has prescribed mega doses of Ester-C and Vitamin B-5 and she said it could take 6-12 months to straigten out my system. Apparently, my saliva tests showed my numbers in the single digits and they should be in the 40's? She suggested I pick up the book on Adrenal Fatigue and check it out. I'm not sure if this is a valid diagnosis or if this is the latest 'band-wagon' disease. She said this is the reason why I can't lose weight, why I crave sugar and starches and why I am tired all of the time. The symptoms of adrenal fatigue sound like the exact same symptoms of many things....estrogen dominance, depression, metabolic syndrome...etc, etc, etc.

Have you ever been diagnosed with Adrenal Fatigue or has anybody you know been diagnosed? Have you seen people get treated for this with successfull outcomes with weight loss, etc?

Sounds like a band-wagon disease. I couldn't find any info on mainstream sites (like Mayo Clinic)....only on alternative sites. I have the same symptoms.......more than likely related to Hyperparathyroidism and Hashimoto's Thyroiditis/Hypothyroidism and the surgery I had recently to correct those problems. If recommendations are relatively harmless it couldn't hurt to try them, but I wouldn't rule out other disease processes. What kind of Doctor do you see? It wouldn't hurt to get another opinion from an internist or other MD. I remember a co-worker years ago who was treated by a Naturopath for several years for "Candidiasis" (yeast).....turns out she was allergic to latex. She is a Med Tech......she was lucky she didn't die following this persons treatment regimen.
