How often do you clean your kitchen floors? I used to do mine once a week, but as time and my health go south, I find that I do not do them as often as I would like to. It also seems that as soon I get them done, that we end up tracking in dirt or spilling something on the floor.
Just wondering what others do....

I usually mop once a week, unless we are having company.....then I will do it at my regular time as well as the day we're expecting company. I try to get up spills immediately, which helps. I use the Swiffer WetJet for my routine mopping, which makes it nice, easy, quick, and with little mess. It also dries quickly, which is a big plus when I've got the kids running all over the house.

Seems once a week does it for me. I will wipe spot areas if they need it because company is coming...but my kitchen is attached to my breakfast nook, attached to my laundry room and half bathroom. That is a bunch of feet of tile...

I kinda cheated on this one! We installed spanish style adobe tile throughout the house (can't tell if it's dirty - lol) ;) . I steam clean the floors with my hard surface steam cleaner (just water) about once a week.
I love it.
I know what you're talking about - and with the in and out traffic, I gave up. :D

Since my DH has never learned to wipe his feet ( I think that he jumps over the door mats ), I sweep daily and mop every couple of days. I also do the spot cleaning as needed.
I do not like to mop. Luckily, I do not have much to mop, so I spot clean.
BTW, luvmabug, your avatar is making me want chocolate.

 Kate, my way of thinking is if I see it enough, I won't want any.
Hopefully, it will work. :)

Kris,
I have not heard of the Sweep N Mop, it sounds great! One of the problems I have with mops is that when we redid our kitchen floors one of the tiles is bumpy so I can't use regular mops because the floor tears it up. I'm going to look into the Sweep N Mop.
Sounds like most mop once a week.
Luckily our current tile doesn't show dirt as much as our previous tile did. Previously we had a white shiney tile with blue specs in it. It was very pretty, but every little spec of dirt showed! The builder had to replace the tile because it started cracking after six months in the home.
Happy mopping everyone! :grr:

I need to check out the Sweep in Mop, too! I used to mop constantlly, one my hands and knees the way my mom taught me, but due to neck and shoulder issues, I mop as little and with a mop--I have even started having my boys mopping!

I do mine once a week and vacuum and spot clean in between. We have animals so we get a lot of dust bunnies

I have my 13 year old DS vacuum, and my 11 year old DD mop. When they leave home, I am hiring a maid........ :D Honestly, I was thinking about getting a maid, and offered to pay my kids to do the work that I would be paying someone else. There are certain things they have to do that they don't get paid for, but as I am grading their schoolwork, if they do my housework they get paid for it. (I am not abusing them).
How often? as needed - some weeks every day and some weeks only once.

Well I mopped this afternoon, I'll make sure and check back and let you know when I do it again. But don't be holding your breath waiting for that response cuz it could be awhile, LOL.

I mop them every two weeks and then use my clorox wet mop in between. My health hasn't been good lately so I have been taking some short cuts.
I have dogs that go in & out to the back yard from the kitchen so I have to mop every single day! I use Pine sol or Mr.Clean & am glad I have a small kitchen!
