.

Does anyone have any ideas how to tactfully handle asking medical personal to wash their hands before touching open wounds, giving injections etc? I took a bottle of hand santitizer last hospital trip but the only one who used it was the surgeon. I am a germ fanatic and going for surgery, this is stressing me out. as less and less do I notice hand washing in the hospital. I even had a surgeon doing minor surgery on me stop answer his cell phone ,step out the door, come back then resume and never change gloves YUCK I was to intimidated to say anything however.

Just speak up. If you don't tell them what you are thinking, they won't know.

When I worked in a hospital, we had a safety department. Any way you can go and speak to them about this? Maybe they have some ideas or maybe some people need to go through a safety course? ;)
