Hi Jag!

I hope to get to know some new ladies! I am a member of a mommy board which I LOVE but it has been a little quiet lately so thought I would join a new one myself.

Hi I'm 40 never married and no kids although I'm helping raise my sister's five kids and their two dogs. I live in Plainfield Illinois where when not working or taking care of the kids I enjoy racquetball, square dancing, sewing, cross stitching, reading (anything horror or thrillers with a few mystries-no romance) working out, and starting to get into yoga. I work full time as a special education teacher for students with multiple disabilities.

Thank you for the Welcome! Yeah it has been incredible how it all has worked out! Well he lived 1 and half hrs from me and I was driving back and forth to visit 2 times a month or so. This has gone on for three years...Then before that I have lived far away and only got to visit once a year or sometimes not till 3 years.. So it has been wonderful to be out doing errands and just give my Dad a quick call and see if he needs anything or wants a visit... I am so thankful for this!

Have fun today!

Hello everyone,
I found this site through hystersisters (sx 08/09). I'm 49 and trying to change my life a little at a time, haha cliche but true!
Luca and I celebrate 10 yrs. this mo., unfortunately no children though. I love animals, my 2 cats are 14yr. old Panda, and 1yr. old Bella, who has revived Panda and I from the sadness of losing 3 of our cat family over the last 2 yrs.
I have many creative interests which keep life fun, trying to find the time & energy for fitness now, hmmm...haha. may try belly dancing, have recorded 'Shimmy' from Tv...
Look forward to getting to know you all. Have a great day!

I work at home fulltime for a company that provides loss control surveys for insurance companies serving business carrying property and casualty insurance. I used to do the loss control surveys, now I review other peoples reports for technical accuracy and work with the insurance cos. This is my dream job.

I love to read, crochet, spend time with family and I'm an internet addict! Really interested in this website - since I found it through HysterSisters which is a WONDERFUL group.

I am a mother of 3 beautiful daughters.
My oldest is married, she is a dr. married to a lawyer...
My middle child is an artist in New Orleans.
My youngest is a college junior, married, with one baby girl and ONE on the way.
I spend most of my time helping with my granddaughter. I teach piano and have used this mostly for my own fun stuff. That may change as I want to help my daughter with costs for daycare.

I love my sewing. I really enjoy teaching piano and I am learning to fiddle.

I still suffer empty nest even though my girls are all successful .

Thanks for the welcome.
I just want to get a little more disciplined.
As I have MS...I have to work with "limitations" in my physical abilities....mostly I just have a limited time I can be on my feet. That means, planning my housecleaning, planning my craft projects, planning my family outings...etc., etc.

I find writing things down a big help. I am a list maker.
Right now, today, I'm thinking of the vitamins I should consume daily. hard to imagine I need a list for that, but I do.

OH YEAH....and I am a huge LSU TIGER fan....Baseball tigers are suffering...I hope they can get out of it!

Plus I am on a coupon site where it teaches you about couponing and also shows you all the deals and how you can get certain items for free. I have saved well over $2,000 or more since Jan. I know I can save more some shopping days I do. One day my total was 24.xx and coupons was 23.xx and I only paid .56 cents

Hi there! I found this site on Hyster Sisters, and have been a message board junkie for years, so I thought I would come by and check it out! :)

I'm Tree (aka Mother of Pearl), married to the love of my life, Kevin. Together we have 5 beautiful kiddos (Matt 22, Nikki 15, twins Anthony and Andre 13, and Brianna 8). I'm also MIL to my lovely DIL-to-be, Brittany 21. And we have 2 precious granddaughters, Angelle 3 and Jiannah 2.

AND, we ALL live together in a 5 bedroom apartment. Makes for mad chaos, but alot of love too!

My family is a little bit “nutty,” quite a bit “messy,” and can be a tiny bit “unruly," but that’s how I like them! I can say one thing for sure. It’s never boring at my house!

I just had a hysterectomy a couple weeks ago, and am out of work until October. But, when I am working, I'm a receptionist/dietary asst. for a State facility. I love spending time with my family going to amusement/water parks, swimming, having cookouts, watching movies, and playing board games.

And I am a HUGE computer junkie.....have had my own message board for 3 years, but recently closed it to the public...only current members are there. And I LOVE to blog....I have 4 of them. LOL

Nice to meet you all! :queen:

My name is Maryfrances. I am 44 and blissfully wed to my best friend and Mama to two fantastic teenage boys. I live in Columbia, MD, and have lived in MD all my life.

I am an avid reader, beader, artist, crocheter, and I love to cook and bake. I seriously believe I could OD on nostalgia!

I am preparing to have a hysterectomy in October. That's how I found this place; HysterSisters!

I hope to meet some new friends, and hopefully meet a few hundred goals!

Hello, All

My name is Koreena. I am an almost 38 yr old goddess married to the most wonderful man in the world (he's my lobster) now for almost 6 years. We have no kids both by choice and turns out, by design. I , too, found this site through hystersisters. I am , however, an overindulgent mommy to a 9 year old kitty named Liberty. I work as a processor for pre-authorizations for high-tech medical radiology studies. Lucky for me, my job allows me to telecommute. while its great to be able to work from home, I don't often get out with the 3-dimensional people.

My joys and hobbies include cross-stitching, cake decorating, sewing, reading, snorkelling, swimming and and playing tourist with my DH. I look forward to "meeting" new friends and helping me motivate myself towards my goals...I do love checking things of my list :p

Hi, my name is Marissa and I live in Ohio! I have been married for 13 years, and have 3 wonderful kids. I work full time as a Manager and Licensed Optician for an Optical retailer, which keeps me very busy!

I am awating a hysterectomy surgery in November, and am very stressed about it. I have been going to Weight Watchers for the last 2 months, and have lost 12 pounds! I have also been going to Jazzercise a few times a week as well. I am hoping the surgery does not derail my weight loss (and get healthier) attempt.

I really don't understand forums very well. I found this one through hystersister, and it seems to work differently. I am not sure if I am even posting this where anyone will read it. It is about the 4th time I have gotten on here, and I give up everytime.

Don't give up. The site is slow at times, but now that the holidays have passed it may pick up a bit. Feel free to start a new post or reply to an existing thread. This site works much like the Hystersisters website.

Check out the forums and see where you'd like to post.

Happy New Year to you!

Hi everyone,

I found GGG through HysterSisters. I had a hysterectomy on Dec. 28th as a result of problems found during surgery to treat endometriosis on Oct. 7th. On Nov. 6th, I broke my right ankle. Sooooo, I've been mostly house-bound for the past 3+ months. This has been incredibly difficult for me as I am a normally a very active person. Before all of these issues, I generally ran 20+ miles per week and lifted weights about 5 days a week. So I've been going out of my mind not being able to drive or leave the house!!! I'm an engineering professor and I've missed a lot of work which is also eating at me.

On the positive side, I have a wonderful husband, two wonderful daughters (twins), and a loving dachshund. I'm also a pilot, a musician, and love to play golf.

Looking forward to exploring this site and meeting some of you.

Hi! I found my way here from hystersisters. I had my surgery in July and had a lot of fun with the sisters.

I am 48 years old and have been married for 26 years. I have two children, my son is 22 and trying to find his way. My daughter is going to be 21 and is in college in New York. I am from Chicago.

I am a plan administrator for a medical consulting company, have been their forever.

I have two dogs - a 3 year old maltese and a 4 month old morkie.

I love scrapbooking and spending time with my family (when they are in good moods of course).

I look forward to making new friends.

Hello there,
I found this site from Hystersisters, surgery Sept. 1st 2010.

I have been married 36 years, have 2 wonderful daughters and terrific son's in law, and 3 very beautiful grandaughters, ages 4, 2, and 3 months.

I am a Registered Nurse and work full time in Urgent Care.
The past year has been very challenging for our family. Our oldest daughter was diagnosed with agressive breast cancer at the age of 31 and has gone through chemo, surgery, radiation and a totaly hysterectomy with one more surgery to go. She has 2 little girls. My DH has Early Onset Alzheimers and is steadily declining, and then my own emergency hysterectomy was thrown in the mix.

I am ready to have some "Me" time and meet some new friends, and since extra time is hard to find these days this looks like a fun site to meet new people and pop in and chat with.

I look forward to meeting you all.

Hello Ladies and other new members (Trixibee and MimiX3)!!
I too found this site from Hystersisters! My surgery was Feb. 24th, 2011 - I had my Uterus, Cervix and both Ovaries removed and Bladder Sling all at the same time - whoo hoo!!

I think that was actually the day I found out I wasn't Superwoman. I couldn't leap over tall buildings or anything, but about the only thing I knew for sure I couldn't do was be a bikini model (only because I'm too short - ya right!!) or lift a refridgerator by myself!

I moved to KC from the east coast about 9 years ago with my husband and son. I've been married my guy for 17 yrs and have been to Hell and back trying to keep marriage alive. There are days when it just works it's fantastic, and days that make you wonder why anyone would put themself through that kind of heartache!!

Anyway,
I have also been Diabetic for 28 years and have used an Insulin Pump for 15 years. I work as a Director of Customer Service in a global manufacturing company.

That's me!

I'm looking forward to sharing with all of you!

Another new member via hystersisters.

As a mother of only boys, I really need some girly time. I love my boys, don't get me wrong. They are such gentlemen and treat me like a queen. :queen: Sometimes you just need to talk with the sisters.

I'm in East Tennessee and live on a hobby farm with llamas, alpacas & lots of chickens. SAHM with a part-time work-at-home job. Life keeps me busy. Looking forward to joining in here.

Another newbee to the site..also found my way here from hystersisters. Plan for surgery 5/19/11.

I am a registered nurse currently working in a family practice office, but in my career I have worked in many areas including peds, neuro, ortho, med/surg, director of a drug and alcohol rehab, house supervisor, just been all over. Even did travel nursing for awhile.

I also own a lodge/Bed and Breakfast on the Kasilof River here on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. I love it because it allows me to meet guests from all over the world. It is a lot of work in the summer because I am up early to cook breakfast for up to 20 people, then off to work, then home to clean rooms, do laundry, prep for breakfast the next day and then sit out around the firepit until late at night chatting with guests. And in the summer it doesn't get dark here so it is really easy to forget how late it is when the sun is still up in the sky at 1am!

Three years ago I was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease and had 2 pituitary adenomas removed during brain surgery. I was one of the lucky ones to get diagnosed and have surgery because so many with Cushing's have such a hard time getting a diagnoses because it is a very difficult disease to convince a doctor to test for.

I LOVE cats! I have 10 of them and they are all terribly spoiled. They have no idea what a stranger is as they see so many guests here at the lodge. One of them even goes fishing on the river in the boat with us!

Alaska is beautiful. We moved here from Florida about 5 years ago and I have absolutely no desire to go back. I go and visit my kids in Florida and that is about it.
I have twin daughters, age 28, and son age 22 all in Florida.

I am married for the second time, this time for just over 8 years. Met my husband on line and I think I'll keep this one!
Hasn't given me enough reason not to yet...ha!

Well, I look forward to learning more about the ladies here. The ladies on the hystersisters site have been wonderful! ;)

Hi, my name is Dorian. I live in Arkansas with my husband of 18 years. We have 2 boys, ages 19 and 13. Our oldest is finishing his sophomore year of college, studying chemistry. I still can't believe that one of my children has left the nest to live his own life. We are happy to see him come home for holidays and summer though. Our youngest is a walking "sport." He loves any and all sports. He has asthma, and unfortunately it has hindered him slightly in the sports arena. We had hopes he would outgrow it, but at almost 14 years old, we are starting to think he won't. But he never lets it get him down!

We have 3 dogs, Laci (shihtzu), Quincy (cocker-bischon) and Murfee (chihuahua). Our 4th dog, Ernie (cocker spaniel), was put to sleep a few months back because he lost the use of his back legs due to degenerative disc disease. It was incredibly painful to hold him as he passed, his breathing getting slower and slower. But looking back now, I wouldn't have it any other way. Our dogs are like our children, only they rule over us instead of the other way around! :D

We live a simple life. My husband is a school teacher so we enjoy alot of family time together, especially in the summer. We finally got an above ground pool last year and it has been the BEST thing we've ever bought besides our home! I don't work, I have been on disability for 2 1/2 years now. I have multiple medical problems that frustrate me to no end. I won't even try to get started on that because I'll never shut up!

I am looking forward to meeting new people on this site and making new friends. I found this site through hystersisters, a site I have come to love and lean on heavily as my hysterectomy approaches on May 5.

Hello All :)
My name is Traci, I am 34, the mother of 3 beautiful children (10, 4 and 2) and a wife for 11 years. I found this site through Hyster Sistes ;) I have been a stay st home mom for the past 4 years, I really enjoy reading, spending quality time with my kids and my DH. My DH travels A LOT for his job, he is home maybe 2 nights a week, this week he is in Amsterdam, so I am alone with my children a lot! After spending the past 11 years as a wife and a mother I am starting to re discover myself, it seems I lost "me". I am hoping to meet new friends on here, have great discussions and learn new things.

Hi, my name is Margie and I found the site thru HysterSisters. I am married (since 1996), have 2 children, one daughter (almost 11 but already pre-teen!!) and one son (9 yrs old)...oh and our beagle, Daisy!

I am almost 37 and just had a total abdominal hysterectomy due to medical reasons that couldn't be avoided any longer.

I work at a health care facility as an Inpatient coder and go to school online at night (and on medical leave!!), also for coding.

Life is busy as I am sure it is for all of us! I would love to connect with others to learn how to make more "family" time, especially before my kids get any older!!

Can't wait to connect!!
