 Anyone out there have a favorite brand of nail polish that is actually long lasting and does not chip easily? I'm having a difficult time trying to find one that will last! Any suggestions ???

I'm another OPI devotee, but also find Revlon long lasting.

I find that I have sometime picked up bottles because of the names... before I had my hyst I painted my toes "Dont Whine... Yukon Do It!" that way when ever I EVEN thought about letting something get to me all I had to do was look at my toes and remember what the name of my polish was and I started giggling. I tend to be easily amused some times...

I love OPI...and have found the secret is to also use their basecoat, before applying the polish...and then their topcoat to seal in the polish.

Sophie ia BEAUTIFUL! Have y'all heard that OPI has a special line of polish for dogs called pawlish? Augusta has beautiful fluffy paws, and somehow I don't think Augusta would sit still for it and I don't see myself painting Mulligan's toe nails.

That's one of the reasons I don't wear polish. Every brand I have tried chips and peels and I hate it when it does that and end up taking it all off. So for me, it's not worth the time and effort.

If you want your polish to really stick out for 2 weeks , Spend the 6 to 8 $$$$ and go to the salon. They will use the great opi with the harding coat and it will look great for the full two weeks. It sure beats paying all that money for polish at the drug store that last for only 2 days.

I had a salon manicure this week. My nail tech said she had been hearing and reading that soaking the hands, nails at the beginning contributes to the chipping so she was not going to do that anymore. The theory is that the nail absorbs water and when they dry out, the polish that has been put on chips.

This time, the polish has lasted alot longer.

I thought this intersting so had to put it here.

Quick tip: If you buff your nails before you put on that base coat, it also helps keep the polish on. You can buy a file with a buffer/smoother/polisher that works wonders and keeps your nails looking nice even if you don't polish.

I like Sally Hansen. It fits into my budget!

When I used to get my nails done I asked the manicurist why polish done at home always chips. She told me that nails have natural oils in them and to try wiping them with nail polish remover to remove the oils before painting. Another big secret I learned is that the less coats the better, I now skip the base coat and only apply two thin coats of color and one of a top coat. My polish stays for over a week now.

Great tips!!!! I am wearing the OPI brand now, lasts longer than most of the others I've tried. The idea of buffing your nails beforehand is a great idea too! May have to try the Sally Hansen too !
