What do you and your girlfriends do for fun? I am still best friends with 2 girls I went to high school with. We all live close to each other, so we get together frequently. We typically end up going out to eat. One of them recently had the cutest baby boy. So sometimes he gets to come along.

I recently moved around the corner from an independent movie theater. We are going to check that out. We always say that when we all turn the big 3-0, we are going to Vegas!

We have "girls nite out" about once a month where we have dinner together and catch up on all the news. It is fun, and we have been doing this for over 10 years now. We recently lost a gal due to husband's job transfer so we don't seem to meet as often now. :(

When I lived in Oregon, my friends and I would also have regular "girls nights out." We even did an annual "girls' weekend out" at the coast. It was always great fun and a very needed break for all of us (we were all stay-at-home moms). Since moving back to Indiana, it has taken awhile to get involved with another group of friends. Several of us recently have decided that this is something we need to do and we recently had our first night out-----we went to dinner (and shocked ourselves by being at the restaurant for 3 hours!) and then went back to one gal's house to play games (and laughed hysterically all through the game "Moods"). I think all women need time away from work/home/spouses/kids/chorse to just decompress and destress from routine life. It definitely makes me a better wife & mom to have that time for myself.

My Best friend hasn't lived that close for a few years now, but she is always there for me and hopefully me for her too. It is not uncommon for us to be on the phone fora couple of hours .
When we catch up we usually indulge in one of my favourite things "shopping" or her favourite things "plants and gardens" different things I know but she is always eager to here about my purchases and I love to talk about what she's doing with her garden ( it's beautiful) As for going out, I catch up with girlfriends for lunch on a regular basis, they always end up looong!!!

My Girlfriends and I head to Grandforks once a year. The men get the kids and we get the room closest to the mall :p

We go to a cheapo salad bar/buffet type restaurant, and sit in our favorite booth. We laugh and catch up and stay til the *bar* closes :bliss:

I love going shopping with friends & trying different retaurants after for dinner. Or we'll go for breakfast & then shopping.

Sometimes we go out for dinner. Lately I've been getting a few of us together for a day at the spa. Getting pampered is always fun! Then we will go out for cocktails after. We all moved in different directions so it's nice to get together with no husbands and children. Just the girls!!

We also take dance lessons together and attend clogging workshops a couple of times a year.
Other times we just drink coffee and chat.

My best friend of 25 years lives in a different state than I do, however we talk on the phone at least 2-3 times during the week and always "have coffee" Saturday & Sunday mornings and our gab sessions last at least an hour to an hour and a half long. We share kid & relationship ups & downs, work exhaustion, joys, fears, doubts, laughs, loves and losses. I was there for her when her father passed away this past Fall and she still thanks me for all I did for her.
When we do get together we eat, shop, I help her redecorate her house, teach her to cook, she kills me at Scrabble & Backgammon, we garden and if we are in FL we go to Universal & Disney, and if we are here in TN we go to the mountains.
I feel so lucky and so blessed to have such a wonderful friend.

Sounds like a lot of y'all have do some fun things with your girlfriends. I'm sure it must get tough once you start getting older, get married and have families. But that is the great thing about best friends...you can always pick up where you left off.

I have had a best friend since I was 4 years old, and we both turning 40 this year. We went to Nursery school, primary school, highschool together and when we started working, we worked a block away from one another. We phone each other each day and are always there for one another. Many people have let us down but we always have one another.
