I have a travel club with a few friends. We exchange ideas via email and in person about possible travel destinations. We have been to Peru, Amsterdam, Brussels, Akamaul, Napa Valley, Panama and others. We are looking for unusual places to go next such as hotels in trees. Mali is on the list along with cross country skiing at the Sundance Rance in Utah.
I'm looking for info on those places and other suggestions of unusual places to go for a good adventure.

I never thought I'd be truly in awe of anything again, but I was after I visited Austria and Switzerland. In particular, the visit to the Eagle's Nest (Adolf Hitler's hideaway) was particularly impressive. Talk about history!!! There's so much left to learn...
Good luck on your travels! I'm envious of you.

I love to travel. My DH will not travel outside of the US. I have always wanted to visit Ireland and Scottland. Maybe I'll just have to go without him. :)

Try riding the Silverton Train from Durango to Silverton. It is a day trip, but go back to Durango and stay at a bed and breakfast. Or come to AZ and stay in Sedona. Take a jeep tour and enjoy the redrocks. Jerome is great also for a ghost town. Great places to eat and shop!

A few years ago we chartered a sailboat in the British Virgin Islands with a few friends. We had a fabulous time. While one of our friends was a captain (and we were his crew) we ran into a group of ladies that had chartered a sailboat with a captain (also female). They were having a great time. The BVI is beautiful and the islands are all pretty close. We could anchor in the afternoon, spend the afternoon exploring the places we stopped and the evenings were filled with great food and fun entertainment. The next day we would pull up anchor and go to the next place, which we was within eyesight and usually only took a couple of hours to sail to.
Have fun!!
