Is your town a pedestrian friendly town?

While my husband and I were in Scottsdale, AZ on business, we went for a bike ride, and also a walk. We were amazed that we were never approached by an unleashed dog. Also, when we got to an intersection, the cars would actually back up and let us proceed!

Wow, that really is pedestrian friendly! That would make me want to go back and visit again! :)

I live in a friendly town, but people aren't always so good about keeping their dogs on leashes. It makes me uneasy!

I have also been to Scottsdale, and found the same thing with drivers at crosswalks! How nice! My suburb of Portland,OR is not too ped friendly. However, we are "reorganizing" the downtown area and wil hopefully soon have more ped paths that actually go somewhere! Need to walking access to grocery stores and stuff.

I think my fellow citizens here, all over the country, regardless of race, religion, or gender have a pathological hatred of pedestrians. And that includes cyclists, maybe especially cyclists. They have a section of the wider sidewalks marked off for they, but they use the pedestrian part, too.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
