Come on Girls!!! Let's get some new threads going!!!! ;)
The last movie I went to was over a month ago. I saw "The Fountain". It was strange, but intriguing. I liked it. I give "The Fountain" 3.5 out of 5 stars. *popcorn*
I have been watching the Nora Robert's Noval movies on Lifetime. They have been coming on Monday nights at 9:00. They are pretty good.
Have you seen any good movies lately?

Saw The Queen last night. Quite good, especially the home life scenes of the Blair family, with Cherrie asking Tony if he would like some fish fingers!

My dh and I went to see "Lyrics and Music". It was fun, but not the best Drew Barrymore movie I've ever seen.
I give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars. In other words, wait for the dvd rental.

Just last night I watched The Lake House on DVD, it started off hard to follow with the two year time difference. I was surprised at the ending. I did enjoy the movie.
We just got home from the movies, seeing Night at the Museum. DH and DS laughed a lot. It was a good movie.

We went to the theatre on Saturday night and saw Amazing Grace. Life of William Wilberforce who championed a bill to abolish slavery in England...trying and trying, year after year to get it to go through. He was a friend of John Newton who wrote Amazing Grace out of his wretched life as a slave ship captain and his conversion to Christianity.

Just saw "The number 23" and it was good!!! It was something to see Jim Carrey in a thriller. Also just saw "Breach" with Ryan Phillipe- it was really good too. I want to see "Lyrics and Music"- I will wait for the dvd now. My daughter saw "Ghost Rider" twice and LOVED it- I didn't think it looked good but she just raved about it. Anyone seen it yet?

_The Number 23_ sounds familiar, I'll have to check if it's still playing somewhere. I saw _Stranger than Fiction_ last week and loved it!

Finally saw _Little Miss Sunshine_. I love movies that set up things like kiddie beauty contests.

Last week I seen The Pursuit of Happyness, I have been waiting for it to come out on DVD so I could see it. It wasn't as good as I expected, but still a good movie since it was based on a true story.
It was definitely a different role for Will Smith. It was nice to see that his real life son played in it as well.
Don't know what I want to see next! Guess I will keep track of this post and maybe get some ideas.

I'll probably be going to see Pan's Labyrinth later this week. I know it's heavy going, but have heard that it is excellent.

I just saw "Running with Scissors" and "Stranger than Fiction" Both were very good. I liked Running with Scissors best though. I didn't realize it was based on a true story.

I have just watched "The Notebook" with James Garner, what a powerful, emotional movie that deals with life from start to end, and has you in tears of joy and feeling goose bumps one minute, then sadness and tears flowing the next minute.
The movie was an emotional roller coaster, i would recommend a huge box of Kleenex and someone to hug while watching it, you'll need that hug many times in the 2 hours.

I really HATED that movie. I think it was a cheap feel. To say more would be to give away the story, so I won't do that.

I was really conflicted when I watched The Notebook....part of me liked the romance and sentimentality of it....but another part of me (the saner part..lol) hated the choices the gal made. Sure it was romantic, but at what cost? More than once in the movie I found myself wanting to shake her and say "don't do it dummy!" But I'd better shut up before I give too much away! ;)

I think that was the point throughout the whole movie, life's choices the good the bad and the hard choices, and how hard it is to have a battle between your heart and mind when they are both pulling you in different directions. I think in the end she made the right choice.

Her choices aren't why I hated it. I hated it because of what the notebook itself was supposed to do. But, as I said, more than that would spoil it for someone who hasn't seen it.

Yes, all in all, cheesy. However I enjoyed it on the level it was handed to me: I thought the movie was good.
It wasn't the greatest piece of literature but the story and the values it encouraged were important to me and my personal values. At the end of the movie i had enjoyed a story that was romantic, embraced life-long committment to the spouse underlining every line of the wedding voes.
I thought what the notebook was to do was a stroke of kindness and ultimate love on the part of the husband.
