I had never had a pedicure until this summer when I visited my sister. She dragged me to a spa-like place for an awesome pedicure. I came out feeling like a movie star.

The lady did the hot wax on my feet...and oohhhh...that was great!

Came out with pink toenails.

How about you? Do you love pedicures for a special treat?

Yes I do!! Just had one last week. I splurge and do this 3 -4 times a year. My favorite spa treatment. I did not have the wax but soaking, exfoliant and lotion along with polish.

I love pedicures, too! There is a wonderful woman at the Spa I go to now who is fantastic! I think it's her massage technique on my feet and legs. She uses some reflexology and I could just sit there all day in my totally relaxed state of bliss!

Hmmm...maybe it's time for another one! Anyone care to join me? :)

I :signheart pedicures, I had my first one about a year ago. I am addicted. The lady I go to is great, and she only charges $10.00, I always leave her a good tip, because it is worth more. I try to get one once a month. :) Carol

I LOVE to give myself pedicures. I have a wonderful relaxing time doing this... and it is a benefit that I end up with pretty feet!

I had my first one last yr. too! My aunt treated me to one the day before my hyster. It was awsome! A friend of mine was really down, she had been having troulbe with her husband. She too never had one before and I knew she would never spend the money on her self. So I treated her to one and she loved it. We went to lunch afterwards and I could just tell it made her day. Just like mine did the day before my hyster. What a little pampering can do to ya!

I LOVE pedicures and have them as often as I can, especially during sandal weather! The gal who does mine does the whole 9 yards, foot scrub, leg massage, reflexology, and she always has the newest colors to chose from. Right now my toes are "Thrill of Brazil"---a lovely tropical red color.

I've only had it done once, and it was wonderful! :bliss: I didn't think I would like someone messing with my feet, but I was pleasantly surprised. Soooo relaxing and a nice way to pamper your tootsies. :D

Pedicures are a must. I have never had the hot wax done. My feet are sensitive though and the poor ladies get frustrated at me squirming sometimes!!! I lvoe the massage from the foot to the calf and back down!! OH MAN!!

I've never had a professional pedicure because my feet are very ticklish & I can't imagine being able to sit still while they're handled by a stranger! So I've been giving myself pedicures forever! :cheerlead

I'm with you Mori! I have ticklish feet too ~ just the thought of someone else toughing me toes makes me squirm.

I am extremely ticklish, so I was very skeptical that I would be able to endure a pedicure. I had my first pedicure about 3 years ago. I was HOOKED from then on! The lady that does my pedicures uses a very firm touch, so I only get tickled every once in a while. The massage is just pure heaven. I recommend it to anyone who has never tried it. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying it.

It's an every two week treat for me in the summertime. I usually wear open toe shoes all summer and great looking feet and nails are a must. My nails are so soft that I have to give it a rest and wear no polish during the winter. I have also found that it is a great gift for a friend who needs a pick-me-up, and not too expensive either.

Me too!!!! I love all pedicures but especially the deluxe ones with the parrafin wax...ahhhh
I try to take good care of my feet, I regularly put balm and cotton socks on to sleep.
I love all the beautiful colours but like to have a french polish on my toes, it's too hard for me to do myself and get a nice finish

I was all ready to go get my first professional pedicure and then I saw a story on the news about infections women were getting due to unsanitary foot baths. Apparently some type of harmful bacteria can grow in the moist conditions around the drain and other openings. This type of infection can cause serious scarring, even requiring skin grafts.

Bottom line I guess is make sure you go to a place that is reputable and that has good sanitation practices. You should not shave your legs before or have any open sores when going for a pedicure. And you can ASK them if foot baths are cleaned after every customer.

Not trying to make anyone paranoid, just aware!

I have a spa pedicure with hot wax done about every 4-6 weeks. If I have special event going on I will fit one in for that also.

I had been getting just a basic pedicure for years and loved them. My mom was always telling me that she should try it, or just spend the money to do one.

Well, one year she and I had a shopping day planned and I surprised her with her mothers day gift about a month early and she loved it. I took her to a day spa and had the works done, it was great. At that time, that is when I switched nail techs and started paying a little more for a spa pedicure vs just a basic pedicure.
