im new here, and this was on my mind, after watchin this show, i decided that if i get something new something similar has to go, kinda boring thread, ill get better with time, excited about this sight, tina

Oh I had to miss that today. The previews showed some sights that were something else. Should make us all want to throw more.

It was an interesting show! Its hard to imagine that folks struggle with this issue and that Dr. Phil's answer was not a troop of cleaners and a moving truck to empty out the house.

Basically his concern were emotional issues that led to the hourding of things. Issues of need to control, grief issues, abuse.

But this is a problem for many people, even if its not in that large of a scale. My husband can't seem to throw things away. He piles papers, books, receipts, etc. I have to tackle those piles when he isn't looking. Otherwise, I fear would could be living like that! LOL

I like your idea, tina. Buy something new and the old something must be removed... I had a friend who taught me: If you buy a new iron, it must replace the old iron, getting rid of the old one, giving it away, etc.... You are not a collector of irons.....

It makes sense. We have so much stuff and we tend to fill whatever space we live.
