I put out my goldfinch feeder 2 weeks ago and finally on sunday saw my first gold finch I am hoping she tells all her friends I had hundreds at my old house which is only a mile away form my new house....
I also got the pole put in for a regular bird feeder but it got slightly bent which I am trying to fix now...
I picked up 4 perinials form my church plant sale, planing on planting maybe sunday
plated 3 trees in my back yard which are starting to look really nice (getting leaves and such) they are small but seem to be doing well...
I have thre azalia bushes I need to plant this week as well, still trying to deside where to plant them, I am hoping my yard will be a very enjoyable place to hang out in a couple of years with the trees.
Also a friend is supposed ot give me soem more flowers to plant in the front which will really add something to my house.
My bird feeders are really one of my passions They are very entertainign to watch.

Yes the time has come and one can smell the new cut grass, while watching the guys sweat as they toil to mow the lawn, the light breeze wafting the smell into my home, oh how good it feels to know summer is near and flowers will thrive.
Sending their scent to my little hive, oh how wonderful to be alive.
you have a lot of work to do, but i bet your home looks like a picture on a chololate box.
mmmmm

Well the goldfinch spread the word I had 6 early yesterday and several visit throuhout the day, my dad came over and finally helped mne get the other pole fixed and we put up my new birdfeeder, had a bluebird visit last night so time will tell which feathered friends will visit regularly....
I planted the azelias, they are in the back close to one of the trees but not to close, far enough away from the patio so we wont have a bee problem.....
the weather has been perfect for sitting outside latly just mild and warm... a bit windy but not to bad....
as for the guys mowing thier lawns well havent see any hotties yet.... we shall see ;-)

We have allotments to the rear of my house and the old guys are all out, plodding away and planting veg to eat later in the year, it is still a popular pass time from the war days i guess.
But it is nice to see the land used for pleasures like that.

Well it's hot here today, I have all the windows open wide and i am doing my washing as the wind is good. I'll be in Denmark soon for a month or two, and I'll work on my tan while there relaxing. :)
This past weekend was beautiful out. :sunny: Everyone was out mowing their lawn on Saturday for the first time so my allergies went bonkers and I couldn't do much outside work. :(
Sunday, I bought some herb plants. Although I have a brown thumb I tried growing some last year and all but one provided more than enough herbs for all summer. It was so nice to be able to just pick some herb from outside as needed. I usually would use dry since my fresh usually went bad before I got to use them and fresh are so much better.
I usually don't manage to kill impatients, so in a couple weeks I'll hit one of the local school districts fundraising flower sales to get some hanging baskets.
Take care

I stuck a little feeder on the outside of one of the windows in my apartment. I was getting a good amount of cute little chickadees until my kitten started to pounce at the glass! It was pretty cute to watch.
I just put my herb garden windowbox outside this morning. I love it when it gets warm out!

Working in the yard is so much fun. We put in a new pond several months ago and now we've started another project. A dry rock bed with a bridge and a flagstone walkway. We have many flowers in the gardens surrounding the ponds and along the fence. It is starting to get hot and humid here so we do have to make sure the sprinklers do their thing. I am disappointed that I have not seen any hummingbirds drinking from our feeder yet.
