Its sooo easy to say yes when the fast food cashier asks "Would you like to biggie size that?" ...without thinking.

Biggie size your food and you biggie size your backside.

FIrst of all, consider taking the fries off the combo meal and replace it with fruit. Drink water instead of a pop. If you must drive through the fast food, check out the fast food restaurant's website to find their product ingredient info including the calories/fat grams.

You will be surprised if your total daily allowance of calories is consumed in one drive through decision....

1. Don't biggie size anything.
2. Swap fruit for fries
3. Select menu items that are low in fat/calories.

Now....the hunt is on. What fast foods can we eat?

I have gotten in the habit of asking them to swap the fries for something else when we go out to eat. If it is fast food I usually order a salad with grilled chicken. If it is a sandwich, grilled chicken and I order no fries. I you can get these items at just about any drive through now.

I like wraps with chicken in them, just be careful with the cheeses and fatty sauces, they have a lot of calories. Chick-fil-et has good wraps.

I never get meal deals anymore, if I eat fast food I will have 1 thing only, no fries, no sideorders. I always try and opt for the low fat choices, things are improving with selection. If I have to eat Fast food and I have the choice, I prefer Subway and there under 6gms of fat subs are suprisingly yum.

I've found at Wendy's you can opt for the baked potatoes/side salads instead of the fries. McDonalds has some pretty good salads also. I like Subway also as you can find some less fatty choices. It's pretty hard to eat out at a fast food type place & not end up eating the daily recommended fat allowance in one meal. Yes, I really agree about the supersize deals! NOOO, not a good choice!!!!! Bigger is not always better, is it?

I don't eat fast food often. But once in awhile a couple of us get together and we usually end up at McDonalds. Last night, I got their walnut & fruit salad instead of a burger and fries - it was very good and quite filling
Their other salads are good too :)

I love water so drinking it is not a hardship for me. Just don't ask me to give up my coffee.....

I love Subway! They have some great whole grain breads and I can pile on the veggies, including the jalepenos! I can't imagine eating a 12 inch  6 inch is plenty for me. Water is always my choice but like ((Jean)), don't take away my morning coffee! As for McDonalds, I have to say I love thier fries and greasy burgers (ho hum) so I don't go unless I go to the drive up to get a yogurt cup. If I go inside, I give in to a burger and fries every time :( Wendy's??? Do they sell anything but Frosties lol I'm one that loves fast food so I have to stay away. In my next life, I want to have long legs, an hour glass figure, perfect cholesterol and be the daughter of a McDonalds CEO (don't want to work there, just want to go when I want).

My answer to "Do you want to supersize that?" is NO. I am thinking if I wanted that much I would order it. It is another gimmick to get you to buy more. My favorite fast food is Subway and Arby's. Since I don't have an Arby's anywhere near me, that is not a problem. I tend to stay away from the fast food places unless I am driving a long distance and that is all I have for the fast stops I need.

Oh, when my family does go to a fast food place and we get fries, instead of each of us getting one, we may get one order for two or three of us. We seem to throw many away when we order more. How weird is that?

My favorite is the Chicken Fajita Pita at Jack in the Box. No mayo or other greasy dressing. No fries and a diet Coke, and I'm good!

I really don't like fast food but, unfortunately, my whole family does <sigh>

When we have fast food, I always opt for the salad with grilled chicken. If I'm having a sandwich, I'll switch the fries for a salad and soft drink for water. I will say no to the sweets... unless a child is there to it them :)

Oh, and if a fast food joint doesn't have any healthy options, it's worth it to complain: I did and the chain in question now has wonderful salad meals :woohoo:

I avoid fries at all cost. They show up on my face by producing acne. Atleast that is what I tell myself if I eat them. ;) I am frustrated that Wendy's took away their fruit since it was a seasonal product. I work in a hospital, so we have a cafeteria thingee. They have a grill place, sandwhich, homecooked, carving board and a salad bar. I've been getting a sandwhich and then heading to the salad area to get me a couple servings of veggies. I like eating that while half the girls in the office eat fried chicken and french fries. I sorta make it into a game with myself...can I eat healthier than them? It inspires me!

I agree with not getting the biggie size because it ends up biggie sizing my behind which I don't need! Most fast food places have a good salad selection nowadays & I try to choose grilled instead of fried. For example I'll have the grilled chicken sandwich instead of the fried. It saves a whole lot of caloris & fat.

Has anyone tried that McDonald's diet?

I used to be a fast food junkie who would "Super Size" quite frequently. After watching the movie "Super Size Me" I couldn't touch fast food, especially McDonalds. Now when the rest of my family opts to go for fast food I look for something"healthy" on the menu, and if I cannot find something we make an extra stop at Subway for me or I eat at home. I am trying really hard to watch what I eat so they are really respectful about this and usually "Fast Food Night" when I bowl on Wednesdays.

I dont get the fries either, I dont give in to the pressure, if I want a burger I get just that. I try to drink water, or try to.
