I lost my Dad 18 months ago on December 8, 2005. I came home from work and found him in the bathroom sitting on the toilet with his head on the sink and his eyes closed. His oxygen was still going into his mouth. He was still warm. I did CPR..but nothing. Anyhow..with Father's Day coming up this weekend, I'm kind of dreading it. I'm trying to keep myself busy. Friday night I'm going to see a play with some friends. Saturday I'm going to a Hospice event for Father's Day which might be good or bad. Last year I cried the whole way thru it. Saturday afternoon I'm going to a friend's son's graduation party. The thing there is she lost her husband two months before Dad passed..so she is going to be upset and I know I'll be upset. Sunday's Father's Day and I'll be alone. Mom is out of town. I'm an only child. I'm considering going to church, but don't know if I can sit thru listening to them Sing "Faith of Our Fathers" and a Father's Day sermon when all i want is my Dad and I can't have him back. Cass :(

Hi Cass,
I am sorry about your loss. I loss my father 6 years ago this month and I can understand how hard it is for you. After Father's Day at Church, I come home spend about an hour listening to my dad's favorite song and looking at pictures of him. I sometimes write to God about my dad and it makes me feel closer to him. Gentle :hug:s , :hug:s to you.
Hey Cass...I don't know how you feel, but wanted to see how your weekend went. I hope that you were able to feel extra comfort on Father's Day. Hugs...

Cass,
My Father passed away at the age of 41 of a massive hear attack, and I was only 21 at the time. :( I am 34 now, and it still hurts, but I always picture him "up there" looking down at me. It will get easier!
