Today at work (I was cashiering) I waited on a former employer. He is the owner of a small local business that him and his wife primarily run. As he was walking away today he said, "Oh, by the way, there's a little boat at the marina named after you. It's not in the water yet, you should go see it." and walked away.

After work I rushed home and grabbed DH & the camera and raced over to the marina. Sure enough, there is a sail boat there with my name on it!

It blows me away. The boat is the husband's baby. I worked for them over 5 years ago, and hardly ever had any interaction with the husband. I worked side by side with his wife for a couple years, and maybe a week or two with him the whole time I was there.

I know that I'm writing very incoherently, sorry I'm still in shock, trying to wrap my mind around it. All night I kept saying "Honey, there's a boat ..." and that's all I could say.

Anyway, I'm thrilled, flattered and feel very honored.

Wow, there's a boat...

That's pretty cool. He must have really admired your name, or you, or both.

How do you pronounce your name? Phonic's works for me :) LOL

I'm still in shock. When I think about it all I can say is "There's a boat..."

Mykhal Jaems is my pen name (if I ever actually finnish the two books I'm working on), it's pronounced the same the male version "Michael James."
