It seems that many of the home shows are taking down the heavy drapes or putting up no-sew fabric swags.
In my den I took down the heavy shutters (they were dark) and put up a 5 yard swag over a pole. I'm not sure I'm going to keep it....because it seems I need to atleast hem the fabric! LOL
In my kitchen I used a vintage tablecloth, turning down one end to sew a rod pocket.
Have you updated your window dressing? What did you do?

In my dining room, my dh took a shelf that fit over the window, he then put some of those round things that go in a closet to hold the bar up inside the shelf, we used a large wooded dowel rod to fit inside it. We painted the shelf, I draped fabric over it and added greenery and tins that I collect on the shelf. :cheering: I think he did a great job. I think it looks nice. Carol

No drapes here. :) When we redid our living room we decided on vertical blinds. We invested in some very nice ones that almost perfectly match the carpet( white with little flecks of dark thread) I had considered having a fabric heading made for them, but was waiting to decide what I wanted.
In the meantime I have found I love decorating this space above my blinds. I have purchased several beautiful garlands that I change with the seasons. Right now I still have my evergreen garlands with white lights and frosted berries and a few pine cones blended in. I have sunflower garlands, colored leaves for fall, ivy, ect. I have even put in a few small bird houses at times. My living room has two large picture windows that meet in one corner so they are very much a focal point of the room. Right now I'm not planning on making any changes. I love being creative with my little corner.
Oh, I also carry on the theme into my adjoining dining room.
Blessings, Sofina
