When my kids are home, we usually break out the old board games. My son always wins at Monopoly so we rarely play that. We like dominos and a game called Racko.
Do you enjoy board games?

For an indoor winter-time board game, I like Scrabble. For summer-time, or for tropical vacations where you can play it outdoors and don't have to worry about cards blowing away, I like dominoes. I have a really cute set of white doms with brightly-colored spots. I'm packing them for my upcoming vacation in Mexico. :vacation: :sunny:

I like to play Boggle, but not so much against my middle daughter. She's an awesome Boggle player!

We have a family game... Sequence! It used to be UNO when we were younger. By family I mean, cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles....usually the women and kids play the games while men play poker!

When we get a crowd, it's great to play Outburst and also Taboo. You can be sorta lax with the team members coming & going... haha :)

Card games really aren't board games, but I have three teenage sons and a husband in the house. (Okay 21 is past teenage, but I still like to think of him that way!) They all love Texas Hold 'Em. I learned to play just for the sake of the precious time together. I am getting pretty good now. I even made a final table when we went to Deadwood last!

Racko is really fun. I am not good at Scrabble or Up Words. I have my own language so any word I make up makes sense to me..but never in the dictionary!! I am the Queen of Three Letter Words!

Apples to Apples is definitely a great game, but when if I can get enough people to play it I love playing the game Siedler.

I have always liked to play Taboo and Scatergories. Trivial Pursuit is also a lot of fun when you are up for a challenge. I got Scene It- Movie Addition for Christmas...it is a DVD game and you answer questions by watching movie clips. It is a lot of fun with a group of people. It is also available in TV addition, Disney, Harry Potter, Sports, etc.

There are four families on my street that spend a lot of time together in the warm weather. Last year we started playing Pictionary and Taboo it it was a lot of fun. We'd throw some ribs on the smoker, make some veggies and dip, play Pictionary and then have a potluck at the end of the afternoon most weekends. Lots of fun.
Around the house we have a large variety of games that we play but our son (age 11) loves Chess so that's the game that's played most frequently.

We also like a lot of board and card games. Favorites are Scrabble, Uno and Euchre. One game we played in our younger years was really fun if there were several of us. Maybe some of you remember it--SPOONS!

We just got a new Monopoly -- "Here and Now." There are tons of different Monopoly games, but this one is pretty fun -- the dollar values are really high and the property names are more "current" so it's a bit more exciting.
Other than that, I think Sorry is our favorite these days.
