Has anyone tried the kits now found in the drugstores for microdermabrasion treatments?
Which brands did you use and did you like the results?

Loreal makes one that comes with the scrub and a after lotion. I like it. It really makes my skin feel smooth and new.
I like Avon's "Anew Clinical Micro Exfoliant". It leaves skin smooth & radiant looking. I use it once a week. I also like Avon's Clinical 2 step facial peel. :yahooo:

I use the one from Olay and love it. Skin feels like silk afterwards.

I use the Loreal one, I love it. It produces great results and it is not very expensive. Loreal now has the chest arms and hands microdermabrasion and I use that as well. Even my hubby can notice the difference.

I'm going to have a peel or microderm at a medical office.
I'm going tomorrow for my birthday gift at a aesthetic skin care center. This is my first.
I've tried over the counter.....all are good.
My skin is so much different since my hyster in Jan. 2005.
I'll post details tomorrow.

Just a question for you all who have tried the microdermabrasion kits, did they leave your face irritated or red? I've just been afraid to try them b/c of that as I have sensitive skin. Anyone with sensitive skin try them? The only thing that I've tried so far is Clinique 7 day scrub cream which works and gives good results, but the microdermabrasion kits seem interesting.

My daughter uses BeautiControl & loves it ! She has VERY sensitive skin , red hair and a few freckles . Someone with RED hair & fair skin will appreciate this comment . Us redheads are so sensitive to everything .I haven't tried it yet , but I do love their scrubs and clinique's cleansers / scrubs for sensitive skin .

I've wondered the exact same thing as blondgrl. I would love to try them but afraid to because of my rosacea/ sensitive skin. I too, tend to be on the red/blond side (well, use to be ;) I burn easily and quickly when I'm in the sun, so sun screen is always a must.

I would just like to write this as a caution to all of you ladies. I am a cosmetologist and certified in Micro. Please be extremely careful with all of these products. Anyone using Retin-A, any other prescription skin medications, has rosacea, Ms or other autoimmune diseases, or any other sensitive skin problems should NOT be using these products. You are better off using a good facial scrub every morning to exfoliate your skin. These products if used wrong can cause skin damage. They are not powerful like the real thing but using them with the wrong skin condition could cause you more harm and pain. Please just be very careful if you insist on using these products. :)

Be sure and use sun screen after using these! Sun screen is especially important after taking off the top layer of skin!

I don't use Microdermabrasion Kits because most of them contain aluminum and aluminum is a skin irratant and can cause Alzheimer's, and lung disease. I don't have sinsitive skin but I can vouge for the skin irratant part. I use a wonderful cloth! Cloth??? you say? Yes, a cloth and water and it is better than any Microdermabrasion kit I have ever tried and it deffinitly won't irritate your skin. It's called DermaSPA. This wonderful cloth can also be used on your entire body! Help deminish celulite, strech marks and more. I found a wonderful company through ebay of all places called BestBuyByFar and they are wonderful and friendly! The 12" x 12" cloth (which comes in other sizes too) was only $12.95. You can use it lightly every day or do a real treatment every 10 days. If you wash it by hand, which only need be done once a week, unless you want to wash it more, it will last up to 600 washings wich is far longer than any kit on the market, plus it is GREAT for your skin. It comes with instructions on how to use and it and care for it, so there is no guess work, just use the cloth and warm water and your face will feel as soft as babys skin! Hard to believe, I know, I was VERY sceptical!!! But it really does work and leaves your skin glowing! I bought one for my mom and sister and they stoped using all those other kits because this cloth and water gave them better results than anything thing else! This is a wonderful product!
