What kind of digital camera do you have? Do you like it?

My first digital camera was an HP and I loved it. It did everything I wanted, was a great size, and was durable. It lasted many years in the bottom of sports bags (wrestling, football, baseball). Finally the telephoto went out in it. You can hear the telephoto working but can not see how far you zoomed in until the picture has been taken. I still use this camera as my back up camera.

Last year DH bought me a new HP camera, and I do not like it. I have not had good luck with indoor photos or night photos. If we are outside in the daylight it takes great photos. I have played with the settings and flash with no luck.

DH has a Kodak from when he was in Baghdad. This camera is good, except it is only a 2 mega pixel.

I am looking for a digital camera that takes great indoor photos, and is fast for sports snapshots.

Anyone have a suggestion?

I have a Canon Powershot a620 and LOVE it. Right now it has a bad card but the camera is awesome. I didn't want huge, nor itty bitty and this one is just right. It is fully automatic with tons of presets. It also has manual settings so I can learn to adjust when I get the time.

I got lots of input from the photogs at work and this seemed a great fit for me.

Good luck shopping!

Recently this summer I was in Maui and DH decided our digital camera that we had with us wouldn't do and we needed a new camera since it was so beautiful there and we ended up getting a Olympus Digital SLR. Wow, I never knew I could take such beautiful pictures. It is a bit more expensive but DH did his research and SLR cameras are supposed to be very good. We ended up getting package deal that included extra lens and such. We actually came out better buying in Hawaii because Hawaii does not have a sales tax, just a general excise tax of 4 %.

I was not thrilled, at first, to start my vacation with a huge extra purchase mainly for DH but I am certainly glad I did now! I love taking pictures with it. It is very user friendly.

I have a canon powershot and I just bought my daughter one for her birthday. I did some research and found the canon product to be popular and reliable. They are easy to use and some have lot's of extra's.

We just bought a Canon Powershot not long ago to have on our vacation to Hawaii. The pictures turned out great and we can take pictures automatically with presets or do them manually.

There should be a Canon Powershot in several price ranges depending on what you are looking for. We went online and researched them and then went to the stores to look at them in person.

Good luck finding the right camera for you. :)

I have a DSLR and an upper end point and shoot.

The Canon Rebel DSLR (1st generation) is great because of zero shutter lag, the lens flexibilty and fact you frame your shot through the lens not a viewfinder. I use this camera when I want to take "photographs", control settings or am taking fast action shots.

The other camera is Kodak Easy Share (sorry I can't remember the model number) is the one I throw into the bag to take "pictures". Although there are some manual settings on it, I always use a pre-programed mode on this camera. The thing I love about this camera is that it isn't too big but packs a lot of punch with 12x optical zoom and image stabilization.

In my opinion, both cameras take great shots and my decision on which one to use is based on the situation. Both have newer models so I can't comment on current functionality but I've been happy with the Canon and Kodak.

Take a look at the specs and then go to the store to handle them and try them out. How a camera fits in your hand and is easy to use for you is just as important as the features it possesses.

I so wanted the Canon Rebel! It was out of my price range, some are so little I am afraid I am going to lose them.

Hello

I have a 7 mega pixel Canon Elph. It is small and takes really good pictures. it does have some difficulty with red eye.

Last Christams I bought my daughter a 6 megapixel Casio exilim Ex760. I bought it because it was small, had a nice screen, and was a good price. Since she is just a teen I really wasn't all that worried about picture quality, but I tell you the photos are really nice.

I would recommend both of them.

I have a Nikkon CoolPix. I just love it. It is small and fits in my pocket (not that I would carry it in my pocket). I used to have a HP that I liked but it was old and huge. It has taken me awhile to get used to my new camera but I love it. I took it to Hawaii with me and it took beautiful pictures. The color is amazing.

I would like a new camera too. My current digital camera is about 8 years old. I bought it for less than 100 dollars from target many many years ago. It wasn't wonderful then. Its not great now. It has done the duty of having a camera for quick photos but nothing that is wonderful.

The thing is that I'd like two gadgets. A GPS and a camera. Not sure I can do both at the same time but it is on my christmas list of wishes. I'd like a Canon Rebel but not sure that is what I will end up with. I just know that technology has advanced in the past 8 years and I think I need to get with it. ;)

I went to Sams Club and asked all the people who where working there. They all had a different opinion of which camera was the best but the real clincher for me was when one of the sales people showed me her pictures that she had just developed from her camera. They were great. They also let me take a picture of them on each camera just to try it.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I do plan on spending a lot of time researching for a good camera. From the posts here I would say that the Cannon has a lead.

It is so hard to decide when they all have great features and a lot of similar features. I will have to prioritize my needs and wants on a camera.

Thanks again for all the suggestions.

I love my Kodak easy share. Great pictures, reasonably priced, and easy to use.

Let us know what you decide to get. There are so many choices. Its hard to decide which is better and which will hold up to years of use. Keep us posted! Maybe upload some photos in your photo gallery here when you decide and get it. :)

Well, I got a new camera for Christmas. DH (wonderful man) bought me a new camera. He bought me a Canon Powershot A570IS.

Right now it seems to have what I want in a camera. I will know more next week when DS is wrestling and I try using it for action shots.

i had a kodak easy share 5MP it was a great little camera, but after a while the battery stopped taking a charge, so i decided it was time to get the SLR that i allways wanted, i have a Nikon D40X, it is an awsome camera! i got it on ebay so i got a bunch of extra stuff with it. it was pricey but worth it i should never have to get a new camera again.

...i should never have to get a new camera again.

That's what I always say but then technology improves so much I always end up wanting something newer eventually. ;)

I had a 35mm SLR and wanted a digital SLR for so long. I finally got a Digital Rebel a few years ago. It was such a learning curve to go from a completely manual SLR to something so feature packed. Although I love the SLR, there are times when I want something smaller and don't want to worry about having expensive equipment with me so I picked up a Kodak Easy Share as my point and shoot camera. Both cameras are great.
