Did anyone else cry with Kelly Pickler tonight?

I love Kelly's voice and her bubbly personality.
She's overcome so much in her life.
My heart went out to her when she started to cry.

Here are the words to the song she sang tonight:

Sometimes I think about you.
Wonder if you're out there somewhere thinkin' about me.
And would you even recognize,
The woman that your little girl has grown up to be.
Cuz I look in the mirror and all I see,
Are your brown eyes looking back at me.
They're the only thing you ever gave to me at all.
"I Wonder"

Oh I hear the weather's nice in California. There's sunny skies as far as I can see.
If you ever come back home to Carolina.
I wonder what you'd say to me.

I think about how it ain't fair.
That you weren't there to braid my hair like mothers do.
You weren't around to cheer me on.
Help me dress for my high school prom like mothers do.
Did you think I didn't need you here.
To hold my hand, to dry my tears.
Did you even miss me through the years at all?

Oh I hear the weather's nice in California. There's sunny skies as far as I can see.
If you ever come back home to Carolina.
I wonder what you'd say to me.

Forgiveness.
Such a simple word.
But its so hard to do.
When you've been hurt.

Oh I hear the weather's nice in California.
And just in case you're wondering about me.
From now on I won't be in Carolina
Your little girl is off...
Your little girl is off...
Your little girl is off to Tennessee

Yup, there are times when a nice whiney country song just hits the spot!

I didn't watch the CMA awards, but I caught Carrie Underwood's speech this morning. She is absolutely gorgeous! And what a voice.

One question though...does Kenny Chesney ever take off the hat? ;)

I like country music and watched some of the awards show with my DD. I did cry with Kelly; she's so beautiful and sad.
I've seen Kenney Chesney at a rodeo & he never removed his hat. Wonder what his head looks like? :D

I like country music! :band: But love the older country music, true country music must have a twang to it. I would listen to Johnny Cash over Kenney Chesney ;) or George Strait over Tim McGraw :D And I love me some Alan Jackson! The Judds, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette are some more of my faves.

YellowRose,
I like the old country as well. In the 70's I took my mother to see Tammy Wynette, George Jones, and Loretta Lynn. It was in an old theater in Pitman, NJ. Here's the link if you'd like to see pictures of the theater. My parents went there when they were young. It's such a pretty building. It has closed several times since the 70's but someone always buys it and fixes it up. It's been open for a few years now. It's a movie theater but they also have musical acts. If you click on the pictures, you get a better view.

Big country music fan here! I watched the CMAs also...loved it. My girls are big Taylor Swift fans so they watched with me. I was touched by Kellie Pickler...I don't know how they get through those kind of songs..I couldn't.
