I don't but want a puppy so bad! I have been looking at the cutest pictures today on - http://www.mugrootbeer.com/
They are having a contest for the cutest and smartest pups. It is adorable! If you have a cute dog, you should enter ... I would if I could!

They are cute. One of them looks a bit like my yellow labs.
I have 2 and they're a lot of fun - when they're not digging up my back yard :D

:D That is a cute site. I will have to enter my dogs (3 of them) pics. My suggestion is to read up about the different breeds, then look at the pound. There are many great dogs there wanting to be loved!

Very cute dogs! I saw the cutest puppy this weekend. It was an American Bulldog and his coat was striped like a tiger. The cutest little face with pink nose and the biggest feet. This puppy will be a big dog someday. Very very cute!

my daughter is the child but the dogs are the kids.

our little (80 pound) girl is a black lab red heeler mix -- so she is a smart cow dog.
and our boy is 100% pure bred mutt -- (do not tell him ) he is so much ofa mutt aht he either has coyote or fox in him.

we love our kids.

I love hearing about your pets! Thanks for the advise too! For those who entered, what caption did you put under the picture? I would love to see all of your cuties! I am always on the site, I love it and the games are fun too!

I don't have a dog, but my neighbor has the greatest spaniel puppy. Huge ears, the whole bit. Cute as a button. :)

I have 2 inside 1 outside. The oldest is the one outside, he's a pitt bull, he doesn't know it though! He's a big baby, but we keep him penned for his safety though, people are generally afraid of pitts. The two inside are Jack Russell Terriers. They're both sooooo spoiled and we've had them less than a year. One is about 2 and the other is about 9 months old and were both rescued. The 2 year old was adopted through petfinder.com and the other just showed up at our house and never left, even though we gave her a few days to before taking her in. She just ran in every time we opened the door, so we just finally stopped making her go back out. LOL

I just got a new puppy about a month ago. She's adorable, but oh, she's such a puppy! Very energetic. Right now, she's napping (angelic mode)....

I think she sees me as a "litter-mate" so she feels free to chew on me, whereas she only sees dh and dd a couple of times a day so she submits to them. ;) My ds is close to her size, so he's a litter-mate, too.

Just took her to the vet for her puppy shots today and they suggested doing some dominance training with me and her so that she sees me as one of her "pack leaders". I know she'll grow out of the chewing, too, but I sure wish it would happen soon!

You guys are making me want another dog now! I love puppies, but would actually love to rescue a grown dog from a shelter as well. Maybe that's wht I will do this weekend..... :o)

We have talked about getting a playmate for the spoiled rotten black lab that we have. I say it's time to stop talking, and go get one already!!

Puppies are cute, but they can be a lot of work. Do some research about different breeds before making a commitment.

One animal shelter in the county I live in sends some of its dogs to a nearby womens prison where inmates work with them. When the dogs graduate the program, they are returned to the rescue league and adopted out with the advantage of having learned appropriate social skills and basic commands.

Many states that have Greyhound racing, also have adoption organizations to place the ones that no longer compete.

There are also non-profit groups that take in breed specific dogs and foster them until they can find permanent homes.

Whatever dog you choose.....it will be forever grateful!

We have a 9 year old shih tzu, Sassy. She is the best dog we have ever had. She is a total princess and completely spoiled. She was easily house broken and never does anything naughty (other than chewing on tissues when we leave her alone too long). We are already talking about getting two when she is gone. :queen:

I miss my dog more than I miss my ex-husband. Sad but true. There are days I crave "dog love"... that wagging tail and "I'm just so happy you are home can we go out now" look on his face... When my ex bought my half of the house for me, I was unable to find a place to live that would take pets on such short notice. Sometimes when I drop my daughter off I visit with the dog but it is just too painful most times.

I have 2 labs, Sam (Black) 5yr old Male was a pound puppie, when my hubby decided we needed a dog 4 yrs ago. And hubby begged me time and again about another dog, I told him "NO, not until we move to Texas into a bigger house. Well, when hubby was deployed in 2006, I purchased Daysie (Yellow)almost 2 yr old female, from a breeder and tried to keep her a secret from him, but her pictures were jsut soo cute, and I wasn't getting any sleep after taking care of a 6wk puppy, that I had to tell him why I was soo tired and how adorable she was. Smart dogs though, Pound puppy or school trained. We love our dogs!!

Those were great. I looked for a while and didn't see a single picture of a pug. I am pretty sure that my pug is the most spoiled pug ever. She sleeps between my husband and I, under the covers. She gets baby cones when we go to drive throughs. She is quite pampered - and cute as a button. :-)

Thanks for sharing the link.

very cute! I should send in a pic of my golden. I have a really cute one of him sleeping when he was a puppy with a new colt in our barn. I wish I had one of the chaos that happened after that flash went off! LOL

I have a miniature poodle. He really thinks he's a baby. When we get home, he expects you to pick him up so he can lay across your shoulder. Everyday at 6am, he jumps in my bed and lays next to me because he expects to get rubbed. and god forbid I am ignoring him. he actually climbs up my leg and stares me in the face and smacks me in the face with his little paw. The first time he ever did that I was really shocked. I looked at my husband and he couldn't help but bust out laughing because we both couldn't believe he did that. It's a good thing I love him as if he is our son.

I have always been a cat person until about 5 years ago.I always walk in the evenings to relax. About 5 years ago this little dog started following me home and she just wouldn't leave. She would sleep on my porch and be waiting for me when I decided to walk again. She ended up pregnant and I just couldn't leave her outside. She gave birth to 4 puppies on Halloween night(perfect ..lol).I really didn't know what breed she was...I knew she must have been a mixed breed.I took her to our local vet and he said it looked as if she had been abused in the past. Most of her back teeth had been kicked out. He said she was part chihuahua part beagle. She has now become part of our family as well as one of her babies. They are both so spoiled but they are perfect company for my mom who I care for.She is an amputee and loves having them around while I am at work.I honestly believe our pets are special and they are all sent as little 4 legged angels.

I love my Pug! I couldn't help but get a Pug when I saw one up close and personal for the first time in my life about five years ago. They are the best house dogs and companion dogs!

Wow! I can't imagine having 6 dogs. I'm sure they keep you busy. I applaude you for rescuing them. I am currently considering adopting a pet, possibly a dog from one of the local rescue organizations.

Take care

Hi Ladies! :)
DH & I have a beagle, Jenny, and a snowshoe cat, Skitter. Skitter came literally walking in our door New Year's Day of 1998 and has been the :queen: of the roost ever since. Jenny, we brought home from a man we know who breeds rabbit hunters. We got Jenny when she was about 9 months old. She is DH's beautiful princess! :D Jenny isn't used by us for hunting. She is gun-shy which is why this guy was willing to get rid of her, in any way he could. Jenny is a wonderful huntress on her own, just don't go along with her, with a gun. ;)

I have a 2.5 yr old plush german Shepherd. I got him from a pound. He is attached to me. We also have a 13 month old black long haired German Shepherd. He is a doll, and afraid of nothing. His hair is crinkled and wavy instead of straight, with no undercoat. (pure breed though).
(We have a new kitten that he has decided is his. He cleans it, and plays with it, etc... If anyone scolds the kitten, he goes over and babies it.)
