One of my favs is one that I got from Fitness magazine. It is their total toning video. I got it for renewing. I would be that they would sell it on their website. But it's 30 minutes and my body does not grow immune to it. It does 15 minutes upper but you also burn lower body by how you stand and then 15 minutes lower body.

OKie, I will tell you but you must promise not to tell on me. I like Richard Simmon's original Sweating to the Oldies video. Its fun, its silly...and I get plenty of workout from it (if I will turn it on!)

An oldie but a goodie is Cindy Crawford's workout tape with music by Seal (the first video, not the second one). I lost 75 pounds using it!!! Not sure if it's out on DVD, but it's worth the hunt! good luck!

The Firm. The whole system is excellent, medically correct, and very effective for quick results and long-term fitness.

I just bought a new video from Kathy Smith and I really do like it. It is called Moving Through Menopause (for pre-menopause and menopause). It has 20 cardio, 20 min. yoga, 20 strength training, nutritional strategies for symptom management, and question and answer segment with physicians and other specialists.

After I bought this I had no idea there is a wealth of exercise videos right on the cable. We get Comcast, and if you go to the menu and select exercise, wow, there must be over 30 different ones to choose from. There are all kinds of dance exercises, like belly dancing, hip hop, etc. There must be several different levels of pilates, yoga , tai chi, cardio, etc. I don't think I will need to buy any videos again with all that is on the cable. ;)

I recently bought two new videos/DVDs. Love one, hated the other. I love Bellydance Fitness for Beginners with Veena and Neena. It is a half hour workout that actually gets you sweating. It is a bit hard on the shoulders. I never do this when anyone is home I have to admit. The video is put out by Naturaljourneys. It is a bit weird to watch, the narrator talks, and Neena and Veena do the moves with this frozen smile on their faces.

I also bought Prevention magazines Dance It Off. I hate this one. It has exercises in hip hop, latin, ballet and jazz. The problem with the video is that they pan up the body and don't stick with steps long enough to learn them. I need to see the footwork! I've tried this DVD three times now and have turned it off in frustration.

Leslie Sansone! I love all of her walking videos/DVD. I use Get Moving Walking for Weight Loss. It's a little more intense than Leslie's. You can choose the order of the workouts. I also like Richard Simmons' Blast Off the pounds. Donna Richardson's 3 Day Rotation is also a good one. Since they don't make it anyone more you'd hhave to find it used.

Well to be honest with you. I really like Billy Blanks bootcamp, even though I have not been able to do it since I got it, it looks fun.

I have a few Billy Blanks DVDs. I haven't opened the bootcamp ones yet. All of the ones that I have tried are fun and even only doing 10mins you can feel it! I have the moves but when they go fast I get lost but they're still fun.

I love the Leslie Sansone walking videos too. I have a couple and they are really great and easy too. I like to run/jog but usually don't get much of that done outside in Ohio in the winter! The WATP tapes are great to get me through until nice weather again.

I also have recently dicsovered Pilates. I had tried Yoga but wasn't too crazy about it, but I love Pilates. It's great for strength and stretching in between cardio days. I got a Pilates For Dummies video and it is very basic and easy, yet still a great workout.

I guess it really depends on what you're interested in and what kind of shape you're already in. I started off with Leslie Sansone, and still like her! It's affordable, easy exercise. :)

I use Leslie Sansone's Walking Tapes. I have to do the 3 mile ones now to really get a good sweaty workout now. But I enjoy it! I tried the Firm in the past. I've heard they are safe and really work, but there's alot of footwork in it. I broke my leg a couple years ago, and at times my ankle is weak...so I can't do it too well.
I lost weight years ago doing the Basic Training Workout with Jill Jankowitz (not sure of that spelling). She jumps out of helicopters and kicks your butt. :) But it's a good workout. I did upper body one time and the next time I did the lower body. Has anyone on here ever tried Joyce Vedral and her weight lifting books or tapes?

Ladies here's something that I tried when I got bored with the music on one of my favorite tapes. You can also use it if your fitness level has advanced more than the tape. Find some music with a faster tempo. Turn down the sound on your tv and put the new music on. You're doing the same moves but at a faster pace. Works wonders for me. I use Techno music. If you try it let me know how it works for you.

My first question is....what type of exercise are you interested in. There are so many videos out there. I have a BUNCH. I use to teach aerobic, but due to a musculoskeletal problem, I only do Yoga and lite exericse now.

I suggest you go to www.collagevideo.com and check out all the different workout videos. They has a 30 sec. video of each tape that you can watch of each one and a detailed description of each, plus reviews. I used them for 20 years!

If you go to beachbody.com, they also have several videos. They range from weights to Yoga Booty Ballet. I've done Slim in 6 and it was great - now if I just turn it on. Also, if you buy any of the different videos, you can join their message board for free and they have fitness and diet experts that you can ask questions.
Best of luck!

My husband and I are looking to start working out with at home videos. I have the old Richard Simmons Sweating to the Oldies, and we will use those to get started on. However as we get more active I am looking for something else to do.
