We went to the local bowling alley the other night for supper -- and they are doing a New Years Eve bash -- 3 hours of bowling -- midnight toast -- and a couple of other things for 4 people at $75
:celebrate
sounds like fun -- so may do that ( or stay home and sleep)
:bedjump:
what are your plans?

 Lisa,
We have family coming in so it will be a weekend of celebrating :celebrate We will have a New Year's Eve party here at the house. Dh's family came in last year also so we may be starting a tradition *party* We will have lots of snacks, champagne and fireworks.
Dh and I stopped going out many years ago. We both prefer to be home to ring in the New Year.

Quiet night at home with family. It's a great excuse to have one last night of decadence... rich chocolate, maybe fondue. Last year I made my "famous" triple onion dip, we had liver pate, little weiners in BBQ sauce... all those fun nibbles.
My dd and I usually stay up and watch movies well past midnight. This year I'm getting her some good ones for Christmas, so we'll have plenty to watch. Can't wait!!

O Mezzo, Can I stop by? You serve some of my favorites!
We go to bed early on New Years Eve. Our day to celebrate is New Years Day. Since I was little, we've gone into Philadelphia for the Mummers Parade. I have several family members who march in the parade. The string bands are my favorite. It's so much fun.
We go watch the parade in center city and then head back to my step mom's in South Philly. There's food and various beverages all day and night. The bands eat after the parade and then march down 2nd street. Everyone dances in the streets. I'll post some pictures after the parade so you can see the costumes the guys wear. I say guys because at one time only men were allowed in the parade. I think it was during the late 70's that females started marching. But it's still mostly men. It's so much fun to watch men dress in costumes and do their dance routines all day!
It's really hard to describe. Second Street is something you have to experience to appreciate.
