Hi all,

I've run into the dilemma of dry skin on my cheeks...but my t-zone has stayed oily since the weather has turned cold here.
I have been using foaming facial wash and moisturizer made by Aveeno, and that was working great until the weather started turning cold.

I spoke to my esthetician about it and she reccomended products by Dermalogica. I've used this product before with really good results...but the problem is, I can't afford it! I just really can't justify spending $100+ for facial products, when I know there are less expensive products out there that will be just as good for my skin.

Does anybody have any suggestions??

Thanks,
Paula

For me, it seems like I change moisturizers once a year or so. I get used to one, and then for one reason or another it just doesn't work as well, so I switch brands.

I've used several of the Olay products with success. My current moisturizer is Dove, and it works great (equalizes the skin) and isn't very expensive.

I'm with you -- I hate to put out $$ for something that doesn't do the trick.

Let us know what you find out, OK?

I use Mary Kay. It is expensive but not to bad. The one that I have is MK gel moisturizer and was $40. Luckily it does not require a lot that it lasts for quite some time.

Hi, I also have an oily T Zone. I mainly use Clinique or Clarins and buy them off Strawberrynet. Both pretty expenisve but I find a small bottle lasts approx 8 months.

I have also found that whatever moisturizer I use works so much better if I just take a few minutes and wet my face first! I used to think I was weird to do this -- or to only apply moisturizer right after a shower. I also live in a cold climate, but if I remember to use some warm water, pat dry, and apply the moisturizer while it's still slightly damp...I get much better results.

But the other day I read something about the skin and how if you put moisturizer on dry skin, it doesn't do much -- but if you put it on moist skin, it absorbs the moisturizer much better.

My current moisturizer is an Olay product in a small jar. Can't remember which one it is, sorry. I think it's the rejuvinating stuff.

Hi Paula,
I can give two suggestions as far as what has worked the best for me ( and I've probably tried at least 20 different beauty product lines from $5-$100) The two that I really like is MyChelle Skincare, which can be found at most health food stores or www.mychelleusa.com. It's free of petroleum, parabens and phlathates. I find it to be of the highest quality products I've ever used. I love MyChelle's Clear Skin Serum for the T-zone. I purchased almost all of her product line. The other skincare line that has also brought me good results is Arbonne NutriMinC, which has to be bought through a consultant, and is more expensive than MyChelle. Hope this helps.

I actually really like the Proactive Green Tea moisturizer.
