1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? It depends on the gift

2. Real tree or Artificial? Pre-lit artificial............I know, it's not the same as real one but it is a pleasure to put up and has taken the stress right out of the holiday.

3. When do you put up the tree? Because of the aforementioned artificialness, the weekend after Thanksgiving

4. When do you take the tree down? Right after New Year's (sometimes even on New Years Day if we are up to it)

5. Do you like eggnog? Sure do but I got it this year and it wasn't very good. I'm actually tossing it.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? No one gift in particular but probably anything that required someone to play it with me (because I was an only child)

7. Do you have a nativity scene? I had one when I lived in my first house and had a place to put it and room to store it. I then passed it on to my Mom. And last Christmas while she was in the hospital, she decided to pass it on to my Mother-in-law. So, I got to see it again this year.

8. Hardest person to buy for? Used to be my Mother. Now it's my Mother-in-law. This year we got her a fruitcake (as per her request) and a set of power tools. Not kidding.

9. Easiest person to buy for? My husband

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail them

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? A robot

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? "It's a Wonderful Life" .

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I do most of it in November (before Thanksgiving) but there are always a few little last minute things that I forgot about that get bought at the very end.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? I donated them...........does that count?

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Something fresh baked in the morning when we do our presents so the house smells good (today it was Monkey Bread) and then lasagna for dinner or as part of dinner.

16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Either or okay but ours happen to be white

17. Favorite Christmas song? Alone on Christmas by Holiday Express (of course)

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? We always would travel up to my Mom's. This year we still traveled to my Mother-in-law's. It would be nice to be able to stay home once in a while.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeers? Yes but I am going to make you try and remember too instead of putting them down here.

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? I have an angel but apparently she's not too happy about having that tree stuck up her butt so she doesn't stay there very well. We found a star to replace her and she resides in the box.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? We open them on Christmas morning.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? The shoppers and the drivers. Also trying to please everyone that wants a piece of you. I would rather spread the visits and the drinks and parties out throughout the boring winter but everyone insists on getting together now. Oh yeah, and getting sick from the aformentioned get togethers. That's inevitable........every year..........you can count on it. Wow.........perhaps I really don't like this time of year after all.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color? Some of the antique ornaments that were my husbands grandma's. I used to have my parent's first ornaments too but I left them when I left my first husband. So his grandma's are very similar to theirs so it's nice to have them.

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Still the lasagna

25. What do you want for Christmas this year? Better health, a Democratic president to be elected and to spend lots of time with the people I love. (Ditto!) ...........WOW! No need to change this answer, I'll just be the third person to use it!!

26. Mistletoe? Yes, but I always forget to buy it...........MENTAL NOTE FOR NEXT YEAR!!

6. Favorite gift received as a child? I still remember the watch I got when I was ten, and when I was 7 or 8, I got a bulletin board. I thought that was the tops.

7. Do you have a nativity scene? I have two -- a porcelain one and my dh has one downstairs in the "boy area".

8. Hardest person to buy for? It's my husband. Without a doubt. Every year he says he doesn't want anything, but I know better -- if he didn't get anything he'd pout.

9. Easiest person to buy for? My sisters. They love coffee!

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Ours is a Christmas card-free zone....

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Hmmm. Oh, yes -- there was the year when I was in my first apartment, and for some reason I was opening my Christmas gifts by myself at home. (What brought that on? I think my parents were on a trip or something.) Anyhow, I always got pampering-type gifts from my sister, so I held out her gift for last. It was so beautifully wrapped. What was it -- a perfume set? Crystal? I opened it, and it was (get this) an air compressor. That's right -- she had given ALL of us air compressors! I still haven't figured that one out.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? "White Christmas" -- but my favorite changes frequently.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I usually start just after Thanksgiving, but I never finish until about the 22nd of December.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Usually wrapping paper. Doesn't everybody like the feel and sound of actually ripping open the present?

2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial. There are enough trees in the world being cut down without me contributing to it. I do love the smell of real ones though...

3. When do you put up the tree? Right after Thanksgiving

4. When do you take the tree down? Hehe...whenever we get around to it

5. Do you like eggnog? Sometimes, but for the most part I'm not a fan of dairy products.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? I got a teddy bear when I was 5 and I have loved him to death. He's sitting next to me right now, actually.

7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yup. When I was little I accidentally broke one of the kings. Poor fellow still has a line of glue holding his torso together.

8. Hardest person to buy for? Probably my sisters because we don't live together anymore so I don't know what they like.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Back when Tamagotchi and Gigapets and all those were popular, there was a package that I was SO sure contained a gigapet so I saved it for the very last. Turns out it was a cheap dollar store squirt gun! I was pretty disappointed :P

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? "It's a Wonderful Life." Boy, they don't make 'em like Jimmy Stewart anymore, do they? I also love A Muppet Christmas Carol.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I try to keep it in mind year-round. My family can be hard to shop for so if I see something they like I may buy it, even if it's July.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No, but I have given some to Goodwill.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Well there was that WalMart employee who was trampled to death the day after Thanksgiving. Absolutely ridiculous. :(

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? I'd do all gift bags if I could, because it looks like they let the pre-school class at the gift wrap when I use paper. But I try my best to wrap properly!

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? The wrong perfume. I asked my mom for a particular one, and she gave me something I didn't like at all because she said the one I asked for was too expensive. :(

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I start thinking about it early, but never do anything about shopping until at least December 10.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? The local radio stations which start playing non-stop Xmas music starting the day after Halloween. How many times can you hear "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree", anyhow?

23. Favorite ornament theme or color? I have a complete mess. Whatever strikes my fancy. No theme at all!

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Turducken (that's a deboned turkey stuffed with a deboned duck and a deboned chicken).

25. What do you want for Christmas this year? Diamond earrings. (I am not sure if I used the correct reverse psychology this year, though. I hinted heavily for the earrings, then when dh said it would be a miserly Christmas, I put things like a frying pan and a handi-vac on my list. When dh asked me, I said, "Hey -- it's all practical or cheap." Don't know if he'll get the hint or not.)
