What was your best deal you got on any merchandise in 2007?? A bargain you found that you thought was too good to be true, until you found out it was indeed true when you got to the cash register. Or maybe in your favorite thrift store and you stumbled upon true treasure lying among the castoffs?
:p
Share...what was the 'find' that saved you the most money?

Mine literally blew my husband away...and he benefitted from it directly!!! :D
I was shopping in my favorite thrift store one day, not really looking for anything in particular, just passing some time before I had to pick my daughter up from school.
I was walking down the aisle where the men's suits were hanging. I glanced down, and saw a different looking tag hanging from one of the sleeves, so stopped to look. This was the original price tag for this suit from the major department store where it was originally purchased. it read $389.89!!! Just out of curiosity, I looked for the thrift store tag...it read $14.95! NO WAY!!! So, I look a little further, thinking, too good to be true, and found that it's the size that my husband wears. I inspected it for damage, tears, soil....found nothing. Marched it right up to the cash register and bought that sucker. :queen:
I went straight from the thrift store to pick up my daughter, then straight to the dry cleaners with it. 2 days later, suprised my hubby with a brand new dress suit, and he was blown away when I showed him the price tickets. :-)

Wow! That was a great deal Paula! I love finding good bargains. I had planned to go to Penney's yesterday as they have their big clearance sale going on, but didn't get there.

My best deal in 2007 (and all time) was my snow blower. I headed to an Moving Sale that had a gas grill listed in the ad but I was about 5 minutes too late. I was really bummed since it looked like it was in excellent condition. I checked out the rest of the sale, then when I was just about to leave I noticed a snow blower off to the corner priced at $20. The seller said it wasn't used last year because it didn't snow enough but it worked the year before. I figured I would take a chance and get it checked out before I used it. However I never got it to the shop before our first snow storm was predicted. So I read the instruction manual and then ran to the store to get a gas can, oil and gas. The next day with 8" of snow on the ground it ran like a charm. :D

Someone was selling the same model on Craig's List for $170 and who knows if that one even worked. When I had looked at Sears, their lowest priced model at the "lowest price of the season" was $379.

My best deal I got in 2007 was also found at a thrift store. My family just relocated from Florida to Ohio in May and decided to start fresh - new furniture and all. We got everything we needed except a dining room table. Now, we have a large family - my Hubby, Me, 8 children and one Grandson, so we needed something BIG!!Couldn't find one whatsoever-anywhere! Just happened to be at a small thrift store looking for some jeans when I saw a display of shoes on top of the most beautiful table.Asked if it was for sale and was told it was-for ten bucks! After begging them to help me clean it off so I could see it better, an employee said it had three leaves with it as well. Long story short, I came home with a gorgous 1950' ish cherry dining table with a couple of scratches, but nothing a tablecloth couldn't hide. This table expands to over 140 inches long!! Problem now is finding chairs for all of us, but at least it is a start!!!
