My pet peeve are forwards from well-meaning people who believe that if they send the email to 100 of their closest friends who will forward it to their closest friends...they will get a free trip to disneyworld or bill gates will send them money.

PS. Please do not put me on your forward list. ;)

I hate it when I'm in a crowd or sitting down surrounded by people and they don't respect my space. Like how strangers will lean over my lap to hit a friend sitting closer to me than to them, or they saddle up against me trying to catch up with someone or turn around. Shudder. I would rather be pushed to the ground than brushed up against! :brickwall

One of my pet peeves is when people yak-yak-yak on cell phones at restaurants. Drives me looney, especially when they are loud enough for everyone else around them to hear!

In a check-out line in a busy grocery store, the person in front of you waits until all their purchases have been rung-up, and then and only then, they begin to seach in their purse or pocket for their money or checkbook. Like...all the time that the cashier was scanning their purchases, didn't they realize that they were going to eventually have to pay for it? Could they have done us all a favor and gotten ready for that moment? :duh:

When I have to search for the "ENGLISH" language on products or anything. Please do not take offense if you are of Spanish dialect.....but when in Rome do as the Romans do.

Chain letters!!! If you send me one, it will break. I also hate the e-mails that threaten me, you know the ones that say ...if you dont send this to 20 people in 1 hour you will have a years worth of bad luck.

I am with you on Kathy, take me off your forward list!!!

A personal pet peeve of mine is when "artists" redo a song, and redo it either badly or pretty much the same as it started out. Either way, I find it to be like bad karaoke :D ...and I'm thinking, if I was paid to put together new ideas and present them to the best of my ability, I'd feel I was shortchanging my employers by offering up someone else's product.

Cell phones while trying to order food or checking out, one its rude, and two don't carry a private conversation on in front of others. Another pet peeve I have are touchy people. I work at a food service place, and we have a sneeze guard for a reason... not for you to put your hand over and try to point/touch the food.

Me, too! I have a tendency to then honk at them. ;) I also don't like it when I'm waiting for a car to pass so I can pull out and they turn-in where I am and don't use a turn signal. *omg* Also drivers who are not paying attention because of their cell phones! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Hang up and drive!

Gee, Kate....are you sure you haven't been up here driving around Rhode Island? That's exactly what people do here too. It's that "me first" mentality. And I agree with you about cell phones and driving. There should be a law against it.

People who use handicapped spaces when they are not! That is and has been my pet peeve for awhile now.

Sib2of11

I knew someone once who had flyers printed up that said, "Ignorance IS a handicap, but it doesn't entitle you to park in this space". The flyer had the handicap logo with the figure in the wheelchair. He would keep these flyers in his car, and any time he saw someone parking illegally in a handicap space, he would put a flyer on their windshield.

I put them on cars a couple of times, but I'm always afraid someone will catch me while I'm doing it.

One of my worst was people putting on makeup on the freeway when it was bumper-to-bumper on my way to work. Or talking on their cell phone and slowing down while they talk. Or just doing stupid, rude, dangerous things! Now I am not working and my road rage is gone. I am a much happier person now.

I agree, but I also hate the idiots who think the space with the lines between the handicap parking spots is OK to park in since there is no sign there...I'd love to accidently scrape my son's wheelchair against their car, :D but I'd hate to scratch his wheelchair.

My oldest step-son is bad about this when he is here..
He has to tap his fingers or click a pen or just in general jack with something that makes noise...

I'm with Michelle and Kathy... dont send me chain emails. I will break them just on a matter of principle. And if you are my family QUIT SENDING ME EMAILS ABOUT YOUR POLITICAL BELIEFS! I DON'T CARE ABOUT THEM, I didn't ask you what you thought and didn't tell you what I thought... so CUT IT OUT ALREADY!

Mine is when people can't control there children.Especially when your in a restaurant trying to relax & enjoy a nice meal & some children are running around screaming, not listening to thier parents. The parents don't seem to mind that there children are disturbing everyone around them.I have two children and have always tried to teach them to respect other people and behave in pulbic. If they don't I try my best to remove them from the situation.

Love Rainbows. I agree, though I'm not seeing it as much as I used to for some reason. Maybe I don't eat out enough. But letting kids run up and down grocery or department store aisles playing chase or hide and seek really gets me going too. Now that I'm a little older, I'm actually afraid they are going to run into me. They head right for you so I always stop until they're by me. Sometimes Itell them "This is not a playground." But usually they stop for a minute then start out again.
When my kids were small I just wouldn't bring them with me to shop for clothes because they also wanted to hide in the middle of the clothes racks. I couldn't get anything accomplished so I would leave them home with dad if I could. I know some people can't do that but they should make an extra effort then to teach them manners and respect like you said.

I also hate it when a patient brings all their kids, husband, mom, etc. with them to a medical appointment. My gynecologist's office is very small and only has 9 chairs. It's so small that you have to practically climb over the coffee table and people if you want to sit. It is almost always full with people standing while the kids get their own chairs. I've seen one man give up his seat to a pregnant woman and some women give up their seats to pregnant women who are far along, but it is rare. They even have a sign in there to please only have one person with you but some people think that doesn't apply to them I guess.
I don't know why the doctor doesn't get a better office, he certainly must be making enough money with all the patients they have.
Sorry, I'm a bit cranky today. Though I'm recovering quickly from my hysterectomy on Feb 1, the last two days I've felt impatient.

I recently went shopping at a Target. I parked between 2 Suvs. I backed out and park straight in so everyone could get in their vehicle. I finish shopping and go to my vehicle and a small truck has pulled in at an angle so I can't open my door. I can't climb over to my driver side due to a bum knee. I found security and he was smart enough to go in Target and say this guys truck had been hit. The guy comes out 15 minutes later and asks what is wrong The security guard tells him to be more conscienous of parking by others. The guy looks at him without saying anything and drives away. This is the second time this has happened to me. Last time was in my van when I inched over from the passenger side. Why can't people be more courteous of others.

I know what you mean! We recently went to dinner with our daughter who is 8. The family next to us had kids close in age. The children walked around the whole dinner eating with their mouths open and eating off of everyones plate at their table. I was grossed out and annoyed. These kids should know manners by that age.

My two big pet peeves are tailgaters and cell phones!

I really get annoyed with those speeders that tailgate you so close you cant see their headlights and you are both already going over the speedlimit just to get you to go even faster. Or, for instance when you are maybe doing 80 to 85 in a 70mph and some guy who is probably doing 90 to 95 expects everyone in his lane to move over as he approaches. I mean if you must go that fast just past people and dont ride them until they do. Or those tailgaters that get mad at you for not moving over when you cannot due to traffic in the other lanes.

Then there is what I call a lack of cell phone etiquette. I don't want to hear others conversations in public places. And do we really think that driving and talking on the phone isn't a distraction or danger? Or those that leave their phones on at more private affairs such as church, sunday school, weddings or other social events. I really think we should have a cell phone license to get for everyone before they can have a phone. And maybe we should have cell phone police who deduct points from your license for every offense your caught in and when all your points are gone you are disconnected. Yeah! Hee-Hee!

I have 3 that top my list at the moment:e

1. I live in a busy city and it makes me bonkers when I'm driving behind someone with only one brake light!!! Are they turning, are they braking???

2. Car stereos so loud that my head vibrates just sitting at a red light with them!!!! WHY??? For the love of God...WHY????

3. I enjoy having a quiet meal out alone occasionally. (Cheaper than bringing everyone along!) It bugs me when someone else is doing the same but talks loudly, non-stop on their cell phone during their entir meal!) What's up with that!!!

1. Drivers who try to bypass the line of traffic and than cut in at the last moment.

2. People who are the last in line in the grocery store and as soon as a new checker opens they try and jump in front of everyone! I like how checkers are now saying "next person in line please".

3.People who do not hold the door open when you are right behind them.

When taking a long airplane flight, it makes me nuts if the person in front of me reclines their seat. I don't enjoy flying with someones head in my lap.. I feel like pulling out their gray hairs and counting... ah one, ah two, ah three. Aghhh that's so rude.

Cashiers who talk on their cell phones while ringing you up!!! How do they get away with that???
When I was a kid working in a store, you couldn't even get a personal phone call or make one. Now these kids are working with a cell phone to their ears>>!!!!!!

I've run into this one a few times lately--Parents who allow their children to be disrespectful and downright nasty when they should be made to sit. I was in the Docs office today (not the first time nor the only place) when a mom with 3 children who were accompanying moms friend allowed her 3 kids to become completely unruly. They were calling names to each other (dirty names), throwing toys at each other which would inadvertently hit another patient (no apologies just a "Billy, I told you to stop that"), and much more. This mom was clueless and should have made day care arrangements or at the very least, told her friend she couldn't accompany her or would drop her off and pick up. People just do not think.

Liars! Plain and simple, why should adults lie? I also hate when people put their car windows down and blast their music- even when it is cold or really hot! I don't care to hear their music and I am sure they don't want to hear mine. I also hate when people complain about not having any money and then turn around and spend on stupid stuff like tinting their car windows or buying a big screen tv! UGHHH!!!

That woman with the three kids is going to have a lot of trouble coming her way for many years. Also their teachers. Not controlling kids is one of my pet peeves, too. I don't understand parents like that. But unfortuneately you sure run into them a lot these days!

I have a few:

When the people in my family insist on putting their dirty clothes in front of the hamper and not IN the hamper. Why? Is it that much harder?

When my kids use 20-some odd glasses for drinks in a short afternoon.

When I finally sit down and want to relax for 10 seconds and I hear "Can you get me...."

People who don't know how to use a turn signal. It's the little lever on the left side of the steering wheel people!!!

Glad I got that out! I feel way better now!

I have a new one....

Why is it that people, especially those with shopping carts, walk diagonally or in the middle of the traffic lane in front of the store (or in the parking aisles for that matter)?

It was especially bad a Costco Sunday. I don't know how many people walked diagonally across the traffic lane or right down the middle when they were parked 3-4 aisles down.

I don't mind letting people cross and expect a lot of foot traffic in a store parking lot, but it makes me so mad when people take their afternoon stroll in the traffic lane instead of crossing as directly as possible and staying off to the side so cars can get by.

Take care

People who chew with their mouths open like complete pigs and/or gulp and take a huge "ahhh" after a swig

People who write "alot" or "allot"... stop that!! a large amount of something is " A LOT " -- 2 words

The doofus (my other word would have been censored :p ) who almost ran me off the road the other day because he couldn't stop texting-- this guy had to be 50 if he was a day.. it's time to grow up

...and last but certainly not least, rude people.

Thank you

My biggest pet peeve sounds kinda silly, but this really annoys me! When I get in the express line at the grocery store (say 10 or 20 items or less), and someone in front of me has like 50 items (and they were NOT waved over there by the cashier because she wasn't busy!)

Why do people do this? Can they not read? Are they just plain rude? Do they think that 20 cans of one item counts as ONE item? Arrrghhhhhhhhh!!!!!

I also cannot tolerate it when these same types are rude to the cashier for having to wait in line just like the rest of us...it's a grocery store (or WalMart perhaps). There will be lines. Don't take out frustration on the hard-working people there! No matter how long I wait, I always say hello, ask him/her how their day is going, and I always say "thank you." I guess rude people are a common pet peeve!

I have several Pet Peeves...Like when you are driving down the street and you have kids riding their bikes on the main highway. With no parents around.
Then you go to the ped with your child and their are kids running and screaming. Or they are coughing and sneezing all over everyone.
My last one is to see a young child with a runny noise. And the parents just sitting there. It takes a few seconds to wipe the noise. I have been known to wipe another childs noise if they are at my house.
