I'm curious...Would you ever have cosmetic facial surgery?
I'm not talking about reconstruction after an accident...I'm talking about botox injections, facelift, nose, lips etc...

The reason I ask is because I've become 'disturbed' at how popular this stuff has seemingly become...I've had oppourtunity to watch more television than I usually watch, lately, and have noticed several celebrities, who were absolutely gorgrous have destroyed their faces with this junk. One in particular that troubles me the most is Delta Burke...a beautiful woman, and she's done something to her lips that makes her look like the "joker" from Batman!!
Anybody seen Priscilla Presley lately?? She went from stunning to freakish looking.

Personally I would never do that stuff. I think I look like a normal 45 year old woman. I like that. I'm 45 and I don't want to look 30.

I think it's all in the way you look at aging. I've lived the years and I'm proud of it. I liked being young and I also like being middle-aged. As long as I feel good, I know I look good.

I feel sorry for those stars that have all the surgery and botox. They really do look odd. There is never any doubt when work has been done, it all looks the same. I'm sad for them. They must feel desparte.

I would never do it. Personally, I think aging naturally is the only way to go. Why try making yourself into something you are not, especially when so many of the results look so fake.

It's too bad they are in a industry that concentrates on looking young vs looking natural. And it's sad that they still take the risk of the surgery even after how some of their counterparts look afterward.

Take care

I don't think I would ever do it, but have learned never say never. ;) So I will say at this point in my life, nope I would not consider doing any facial surgery. Aging is a natural part of life. I realized a long time ago that I am no longer 20, therefore am not going to look like I am 20 anymore. :D

Priscilla Presley looks awful! Have you seen Kenny Rogers lately? Or Bruce Jenner? They look like freaks. I have to turn my head away from the TV anytime they are on.

I haven't seen Delta Burke lately. That is a shame if she has jumped on the cosmetic surgery bandwagon. :( She is a beautiful woman.

No, but I'm often interested in people's perception of what is okay surgery and what is "bad" surgery." For instance cosmetic reconstruction is okay because the person wants to look like themselves again, but a person who wants to look like themselves without bags on the eyes is looked down on in this society. Both are vanity. When people say you should keep what God gave you, I smile because I had orbital decompression for a physicall ailment that happened to my eyes. I've been on the reconstruction side of things because I had problems with my eyes (my insurance paid guys so it was a medical necessity), but also I was happy to look like myself again. I say if it makes people feel better and less self conscious, who am I to stand in their way. In other countries like spain (my bestfriend Marta is from there), reconstruction is still considered cosmetic surgery as it is reconstruction of features. Plastic surgery is very similar to reconstruction so where do you draw the line?

The only thing I woudl do were it not so risky, is remove the big black circles from under my eyes. But when I sleep enough, don't let myself get stressed and use the concealer, they aren't so bad.

Oh, and the white CHO spots on my eyelids.

Oooh.... Kenny Rogers just looks freaky, IMO.

I don't think I'd do anything to my face. But I might consider a tummy tuck some day. :)

While I don't much care for the wrinkles that come with getting older ( who me?? ), I've not really considered face lifts. I'm allergic to pain :D - not to mention the expense.

I see the celebrities that have overdone it & that keeps me away from it too. It would be awful to have that "wax-face" look.
