Have you ever lost your wallet?
About a month ago we had a major snow storm here and I got my car stuck in a snow drift. After the car had been there for two days we (DH/DS) were able to dig it out.
While digging the car out DS (15) lost his wallet in the snow bank. We went down the next day to look for it, but no luck. We then had to remember what was in his wallet and what needed to be canceled.
He had $50 cash, Barnes and Noble gift card, school ID, Drivers Permit, Conoco gas card, Bank debit/visa card and his military ID card. Our debate was what to cancel and what not to worry about.
Since we knew the wallet was in the snow bank on a country road we decided against canceling items immediately. We did take him down to get a new drivers permit. I had been watching accounts closely to be sure there was no extra activity on the non-canceled cards. Everything was looking good.
Since the snow started melting we have been watching the area closely to find the wallet. We would drive by slowly and some days get out and walk the area. No luck yet.
Today DS and I went down to look again. He took one side of the road and I took the other. I barely walked 10 feet and there it was. Everything in tact, full of gravel, but everything was there.
Timing was perfect for finding his wallet. Next week he starts traveling with the baseball team and will need his debit card for when they stop for meals.
Anyone else been through having to cancel cards because of a lost wallet?
Luckily for us it turned out ok.
