View Full Version : Cosmetic Surgery?
Has anyone had cosmetic surgery? Just thought this would be an interesting thread. I haven't, but if it was more affordable maybe I would have a few "touch ups" here & there! :D

Ive said lately that when I win the lottery ( yea, right ! ), I was going to have some things lifted and tucked  I don't know if I actually would - but then, I haven't won the lottery - yet...

I would really only want a breast reduction done, even though some lipo would be nice!!! I don't know about paying so much, having so much pain, and then hoping it comes out ok!!

I guess it's not really cosmetic surgery but I am planning on having a couple of sessions of IPL, a friend had it done and the improvement is fantastic. I would like to get rid of a few capillaries and a few sun spots.
I do love watching Dr 90210, I think some of the results are great, just not for me :)

I realize that breast reduction surgery can be a 'quality of life' issue so I understand why women would opt for that, but whenever I think of plastic surgery, Joan Rivers comes to mind *omg*. For that reason alone, I'd have to say no, I'd never have plastic surgery.

I've never had it, but I would! Very expensive, But I'd love a "total body lift"! Everything's gone south. My lower half seriously needs some lipo and tightening, tummy needs a major tuck (have lost a lot of weight the past few years) and my breasts? Oh dear! Not worried about my face. Not very wrinkled (yet) so I can deal!
Now I have to start playing the lottery, lol!
When I think of plastic surgery I remember watching "The Swan" where "plain Jane" girls were transformed into gorgeous knockouts! Anyone remember watching that show? It was amazing & they were so lucky having all that done for free! I also loved the series "Nip Tuck" which also revolved around plastic surgery. For most of us I guess it's just a fantasy & something to hear & read about.

The Swan.. I remember that. I thought that it was horrible. SUch a transformation in such a short time. Those girls had a lot of psychological problems that I hope they got help with afterwards. I can't imagine doing something like that.
I LOVE NIP/TUCK!! Its so disturbing. but I am so addicted!!
I think it is a fantasy for normal everyday women!

I like Dr. 90210, too!! It's quite entertaining to watch. There is one dr on there that is so full of himself and all the $$$ items he has. GAG!
But if my boobs get smaller after I have kids later on down the road, it would be hard to say no to a boob job. :D

At 40, I am starting to think a thread lift would shave off a few years and be very affordable and less invasive. Has anyone had this procedure?

I can understand breast reduction, but don't understand some of the other nips and tucks that are done. Surgery can be a life altering experiece. And I wouldn't be me without my nose, eyes, etc. If I altered my look that would take away who I am. I would also feel like I was disrespecting my ancestors. That may sound weird, but I can see me in my ancestors and I don't want to change that.

I am not opposed to cosmetic sx. and plan to start having some done later this year. I am looking forward to changing a few things and adding some stuff as well. I am hoping for collagen injections later in the summer to plump up the lips!

I have had breast reduction. I am 6' tall, and usually weigh about 150-160, but my breasts were huge, even for my body frame. When I turned 18, I was still on my parent's insurance, so I had it done before they dropped me. They took 3lbs from my right breat & 2.8 lbs from my left breast. Then they used a procedure where they tightened my chest muscles to lift my breasts. I went from a 38DD to a 38C. The back pain is gone now. Since then I have had kids & breast fed, and they need lifted back up where they belong.
I will admit, it hurt. I couldn't lift my arms up because it made my chest hurt, I couldn't lay on side, because my breasts would "fall". I would love to have the same look I got after the reduction, but I just can't bring myself to hurt like that again.

I did Botox between the brows. Loved it and am glad I don't see those frowns! Lasted way longer than they said it would. It cost $100. Worth every penny.

I know someone who had this procedure. She looked like hell for 6 weeks. I didn't think the results were worth it.
Has anyone had a "nose job"(rhinoplasty) & were you happy with results? I know someone who had it done but tried to deny it when I asked! The transformation was so evident & a big improvement in her appearance, yet she denied ever having it done & I found that so silly on her part. I've thought of having it done myself but it's expensive & I'm scared of the end result.

I love Dr. 90210! I would like to have alot of things "made smaller", but i don't like the idea of going through all of that pain and money!!

I lost 125 lbs over the last year. I recently had a tummy tuck (1-31-06) to get rid of all the excess skin from weight loss. My doc also tightened all my stomach muscles when he did the tuck. It was the most painful surgery I have ever been through but it has definitely been worth it to me. After I recover from this, I plan to have a boob job. When I lost all the weight, I lost the boobs too.
Oh and I had my eyeliner tattooed on. Does that count? I absolutely LOVE that!

I would absolutely LOVE to have a tummy tuck!!!! I have had three children by c-section and another abdominal surgery through the same type incision. Needless to say, my tummy muscles are shot!!!! Tummy tucks are not cheap though, but oh how I hate this "hang" of skin I have!!!! If I had the money to go and have it done, I would be running to the plastic surgeon!!!!

Not sure if this qualifies, but I had cosmetic dental work done about 15 years ago. I was a thumb sucker as a child and did a alot of damage to my front upper teeth that even braces really could not correct. I had 4 veneers applied to my upper front teeth and the results were dramatic. Best decision and investment I ever made :)

Good afternoon. I have experienced a boob job. But it was because mine practally dissappeared after my kids were born and I quit nursing. I have enjoyed them and so has my husband. I had it done and three days later I took my sons cub scout den camping I did not lift anything and was only in moderate pain after a few days. I would do it all over again because I had the right reasons. Not just for the looks but because I was prepared for it.
As far as that tuck and lift thing goes I wouldn't try that yet. I'm currently using a cream that seems to tighten my butt and thighs I have lost 1 inch so far with it and I dont' really have a cottage cheese looking but anymore.

Hi Crazycoja....Congratulations on the weight loss! I have 100lbs to lose and I sometimes think...whats the use, I'll still have a flabby stomach with hanging skin and my breasts will still be deflated and touching my navel! I've thought that I'd like to get a tummy tuck when I do lose the weight...and I'd like to put the breasts back where they belong. :)
You mention that the tummy tuck was extremely painful. May I ask what other surgeries you've had? I've heard others say that this surgery is extremely painful. I recently had a abdominal hysterectomy and I've had two cesareans and one large fibroid removal....all together, 3 abdominal surgeries...I was wondering how the tummy tuck compares on the pain scale.
