Hi--Anyone else here ever done the bible study on being a DIVA (Divine Inspiration for Victorious Attitude)? Our church's ladies Sunday School class W.O.W. (Women of the Word) just got done with it. Personally, I didn't know quite what to make of it. Anyone got any opinions?????
That might explain a bumpersticker I saw the other day: God's Diva. I actually found it quite odd. I didn't know that God had divas. To me, the word diva is not a word that I would associate with God, Christianity or even 'religion'. Maybe someone could enlighten me on that, too!

Kate--See, I think the word "Diva" has a bad connotation too. Usually when you think of a "Diva" you think of someone with an attitude, (in your face type) or at least I do. I didn't enjoy the Bible study very much, but then maybe I already had some pre-concieved ideas about it before we started it. Then too, I am older and look at things a little differently than some of my younger peers...

Hi, I agree with you. I'm older too, and when I think of Diva--I think of a woman who thinks she's "all that".
But like you said, we get these pre-conceived ideas about words. There is alot of stuff out there to be a "goddess" too. I'm not too sure that is very Christian.
Do you think that at times women are sorta still pushed down, and if you want to be a diva it's frowned upon?
just wonderin.....

I'm with you, Lavendar--I don't like the "goddess" stuff either. Sounds too New Age or pagan to me...
