Because of my body type I have an extremely hard time finding a pair of jeans to fit. BUT I do remember a pair of jeans I used to have made by Buffalo. I wore those things till I couldn't fit in them anymore!! Having a pair of jeans that fit...wow the feeling is great!! Anyone have a brand of jeans that they adore??
(Any suggestions for the hippier women?? I have a small waist and a large butt and hips...Im looking for some help!!!) :D

I love the Not Your Daughter's Jeans (the version with the tummy tuck panel). They fit great around the hips with no gaps at the waist, very comfy. They are a bit pricey, but they are worth it to me. I bought my first pair from the Time For Me online cataloge, and later I found them at Nordstroms.
I'm a big fan of the Long and Leans from The Gap. They fit my big ol' butt, wide hips and smaller waist. ;)

I also have a pear shape figuire. I have found Calvin Kleins relaxed fit jeans work for me.
I would also like to throw in.... I hate jean shopping!!!

Tanner,
I don't know anyone who likes jean shopping? Well... I guess if you were really skinny and the jeans were made to fit you!

I hate clothes shopping - period!
I've found the Arizona jeans from J C Penney's fit pretty good and are not real pricy. My problem is skinny legs, by the time I find jeans to fit my middle, they're too roomy on my legs.
I hate having to alter my new clothes but often do.:(

Jessica,
I consider myself very hippie, 40" hips and 29" waist. Most slacks I have to take the waist in several inches so I can wear them. :(
I have a couple pair of Nautica jeans that fit great. I want more and now have to drive 45 mile to a mall that sells them. But when ya find a pair that fit ya make the drive!
Good luck with your jeans quest.

I found a pair of jeans I like at The Limited. They are boot cut, lower than my waist just a smidgen...and yet seem to be generous in the hiney for my wider portions. :D
Mine are the Cassidy fit.

Kathy,
I might have to check that out. I never really thought about going to the Limited for jeans! I have tried every othe rplace, so it can't hurt to try there!!
Jess, yes, go try some on! I love their stuff there. Plus, they come in different lengths. ;) I like the Drew style.

I am sort of the opposite body type. I think it is called the apple type. My waist is big but my hips and legs are not so it is hard to find a good fit. The butt and legs look too baggy. This seems even worse in nice pants. I know the Levi website would make them to order just for your measurements. They were too pricey for me but they are probably still offering that.
Anyone else have my problem? Also I am 5'5" and most of the time the petites are too short and the regulars too long.

I like DKNY jeans, which are cheaper when found at discounters like Ross or Marshall's. And stretch jeans are the greatest! Ann Taylor Loft has good jeans, too.

Ahhhh to be young again and able to wear[and look good in too!] all brands and styles!
I just hate shopping for jeans. I have a small waist and a big butt and I'm tall so the mediums or too short but the tall is too long, so I buy them and roll them up until they get washed so much they shrink.

I just got a couple of pairs of Wrangler Aura jeans. They fall just below the waist and have some stretch. The really great thing is that they say to get a size smaller than usual. Now that's good marketing in my book.

For me, the hardest thing about jeans is finding a pair that sit "at the waist" not slightly below, low rise ect ....... but I want the boot cut style too, and I have a hard time finding jeans that sit "at the waist" but are boot cut. I currently wear Levis mostly, anyone have suggestions where I can find more what I am looking for.

I just found that J.C.Penney will custom fit jeans for you on their website. jcpenney.com. It came in an email advertisement. They are 44-54 dollars and have lots of cuts and colors and details so you can pick what you want. Search for "custom fit" if you do not see it on the home page. They also have them for men and they have chinos, too. You can return them if they don't fit.

MY favorite jeans come from Lands End relaxed Fit. A full 2inches extra in the butt and thigh area and true fit in the waist !!! [B]

Believe it or not, WalMart has some nice jeans that fit me well and are priced right at $18.83. They're Riders (by Lee) Women's Boot Cut Stretch Jeans. They come in a mid-rise version also. Sizes range from 6 to 18, with 2 lengths (petite and regular), and they have a dark wash that looks nice and is in style. You might give them a try.

SEVEN FOR ALL MANKIND.The only jeans I will ever wear. They are made of the softest cotton and I just love them. I discovered them about 5 years ago and never went back to my other jeans I use to wear!

Hi, Ladies!
I too, have a pair of pants in the Cassidy fit from the LImited that fit well - mine are dress pants, though.
My other ALL-TIME favorite jeans are Gloria Vanderbilt, Giselle cut. Also a lot of her capris fit me well. I usually find them at Penneys and Kohls. I also have the 40 something hips and 20 something waist - always have that darn gap in the back of my pants. Not so much with the Gloria Vanderbilts though.
I'm definitely going to look for the jeans you ladies have recommended too!

I love the Kelly Jeans by Ralph Lauren, they have just a little bit of stretch in them and are so soft and fit very well! I like it that they come in a variety of lengths as I'm somewhat short & they come in many different lengths.

Joyce, those Lee Riders are the ONLY jeans I will wear. I have a gut on me, so I buy the ones with a little bit of a stretch in them. You can't beat the price, and they fit very well. I never try them on, I just pick them up and head for the checkout. I'm also short, so I've always had a problem finding the right fit with other brands, until I found Riders. If I ever became wealthy, I'd still only wear Riders. Perfect fit for the not so perfect body.

Yep, those Riders by Lee got me compliments recently. I was out to lunch with a friend (one who frequents Nordstroms and Saks-type stores more than anything) and she asked me what brand jeans I was wearing. She seemed surprised when I told her, but she thought they looked great and made my legs look long.
Woo hoo for WalMart!

I wear jeans that are "cast off" from my two younger brothers. Most are Wranglers or Levis. Some are the typical blue denim, and some are black. Both my brothers are taller than me, so I have to cut off some length from the bottom and either hem them or fringe them.
I like getting jeans "previously worn" by someone else. They're broken in and look natural. Both my brothers periodically gain weight and lose weight (so do I!); they sometimes "overbuy," and quickly tire of what they bought. Before they are allowed to bring their surplus to Goodwill...I sort through them and make my own selection. :D Sometimes my husband finds a pair or two for himself as well. :)

I used to like jeans when I was younger but even then they tended to gap and then keep shrinking.
Now, I really don't see jeans as the most flattering or even comfortable kind of pants for most women. If I want jeans again I will make them as I have a great master pattern for pants that can be easily adapted for jeans. Of course, I won't use the brads and they don't look like factory-made jeans but believe me they will fit, won't look homemade and will be very flattering compared to anything I can buy. I find I usually have to alter anything I buy, anyway. Now, if my serger would just quit acting up!

I absolutely hate shopping for jeans! I'm not overweight, but do have a stomach that has a mind of its own so I have to be mindful to leave some room and that they don't bind too tightly. Two years ago we were going East in October and I decided that I was not going to wear my stretchy pants and went on a search for several pairs of jeans. Oh my, it took me weeks, many hours and trying on sooooo many pairs to find just a few to purchase. I bought two that I really love, the others kind of sit in my drawer now because I really don't like the fit or the length shrunk in the dryer and now they're too short.
One pair I bought at Academy and the other I found at TJ Maxx. They're not really a *brand* name. I would love to try the Not Your Daughter's Jeans. I think those would probably work really well for me with my tummy problems.

Lee "One True Fit" are my favorite now. I am an 8, but have a hourglass figure and muscular legs, so I have a problem getting waist, hips, and thighs to fit right on the same pair. These have a "no gap" waistband, not elastic all the way around, but hidden elastic in the back middle of the waistband. They come in different cuts and styles. Since I am short-legged, I look better in boot cut.
