Hi all! I just need to vent. I have been out on WC since Oct. our $$ is dwindling so I asked my Dr to put me back with limitations. He didn't want to but understood $$ so he did. (I'm a preschool teacher) Anyway because I can't run, bend or work more than 30 right now, my employer cut my hours to FIVE hours a WEEK!!! AND cut my pay but $5.00 per hr!! I had the Dr put me back out!! I'm sooo upset, I've been a good, loyal employee and this is what I get!! UGGGHH!
Hi Marie, Sorry to hear that work is crazy and been upsetting. Maybe you can find a new position elsewhere where you can work more hours and get paid more! Hang in there. I hope that everything works out the way you want it to. :)

I am so sorry Marie :comfort: That is terrible that they would cut your hours back like that. I hope you can find another job where they will appreciate you more. Perhaps there is a silver lining in all this. I remember when I was laid off a few years ago I was devastated, but it really was a blessing in disguise. I was able to have some time off to recoop and try to get my health back in order. I did find another job, one without all the stress I had at my previous job. So looking back, I think it turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

Not only a cut in hours, but a cut in wage, too? That's a killer. :(
I've never really understood employers who cut pay unless job responsibilities change significantly. I know it's done, but I personally feel it would be a morale-buster.
I hope you're able to work through this and find something which is better suited to your needs. You know -- if you don't like the way you're being treated, it sounds like you're at the wrong job (or at least you're with the wrong employer). Best to you as you move forward.

Well first I am glad that you vented. Sometimes saying it just makes you feel better. That being said I think that you should start looking elsewhere for an employer who will appreciate you and what you bring to them. It will be their loss and your gain!
All my best in your getting into more appreciative surroundings!

I didn't think it was legal to cut someone's pay? I know you can cut their hours but their pay I don't think you can. Sounds like to me though if they are willing to stoop that low that you are better off looking for something else.
Good luck!
