How much is gas in your town?

We just drove past a gas station and noticed the price jumped again. 3.38 for regular.

It had risen to 3.33 last week, fell a few days ago to 3.19 and today it is up 19 cents!

How much in your area?

I fill up my gas tank every Friday at the local Hess station. Last Friday it cost $3.19 a gallon for regular. I drove by the gas station Thursday and couldn't believe the price....$3.39 gal. and today, at the same station, it's $3.45. Unfortunately, there's no end in sight. :(

Oh, I found a station last night that was selling regular gas for $3.29 a gallon, so I filled up last night instead of today.

On Wednesday here it was 3.12 and today it is 3.31. I can't believe how much it has gone up in just 2 days time. It's going to be where we can't afford to drive anymore. It costs my DH 20 dollars a day to drive to work. Hope it goes down sometime soon.

The average seems to be about $3.49 :-( It jumped up to around $3.45 last week so I have a feeling tomorrow they will all be around $3.59 which is what the early adopter price hikers are charging.

There is also about a 10 cent difference between prices near my house and near work. I usually get my gas at Costco near my home on the weekend, but may rethink that if the one close to work is cheaper.

The prices are bad enough, but I just don't understand how stations in the same area have such a wide spread of prices.

oh yea, almost forgot. With my Kroger plus card I get .20 off a gallon. I use to get .50 off, but they changed it :( !

I have a similar feeling. Gas started skyrocketing instead of the creeping up it had been doing right when I started another work assignment that is twice the distance of my last one. :(

Like Jean, the cheapest I have seen is $3.39, have seen a high of $3.54. It cost me $47 to fill up my Nissan Altima on Thursday. I think I paid $3.239 a gallon. It is rising quickly! I have read that it will be $4 a gallon by the end of summer! :eek:

I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I received an email of which gas stations buy their gas from overseas so we should try to avoid them. The top 3 were Shell, Exxon and Mobil. Valero does not so I've been using them.

The gas station by work was $3.59 Tuesday night, then $3.47 yesterday morning. When I left work it was $3.50.

Price increases are one thing, but prices changes in this short a time frame is insane.

I use Valero too. The prices are still going up up up! I haven't seen any going down
I went into town yesterday and by the time I went back - the price had risen another 5 cents a gallon :(

Small town, Indiana--$3.75/Gallon! Had to ask hubby and son because I have quit looking. It really makes them mad that I don't pay attention, but it gets depressing. I only drive to the very essential places now. Hopefully this summer, we can use the city bus more often.

Yesterday I went by a gas station at 11:30AM and it was $3.53. I had to go back through around 5:30 and thought I would stop there since it was the "cheapest" around and it was $3.65. It went up 12 cents in 6 hours. Geeez!

I bought gas a little over a week ago and paid $3.51. Just got back from vacation and by the airport was $4.09 last night. I knew that that station is usually 20 cents higher than others because it is closest to the rental car return but was shocked because gas is usually only a few cents higher than near my mom's (where I was on vacation).

This morning on my way to work, it was $3.99. I couldn't believed it jumped that much in about a week :eek: I understand that prices increase but that much in such as short time is insane.
