I am considering signing up as a Mary Kay rep. The thing holding me back is how to get clients.

The products are good, the support within the company is good. The lady I would work under is WONDERFUL.

Do any of you have a home based business (MK, Partylite, Pampered Chef, Avon, etc) and if so how did you get started to build your client base?

I know a lot of times the best way is word of mouth, but how do you get started?

One thing you could try is posting a professional looking flyer on bulletin boards at local businesses, especially coffee shops. Almost every coffeehouse I go to has a bulletin board for things like that because the owner wants to be considered part of the community, and community-based businesses are useful in making that happen. Just go in and ask the owner for permission to post your flyer. ;)

I also work from home with a party-based business. This is my second business to run from home. With my last company, I had worked my way up in the company high enough to lead national training calls on recruiting and booking parties. :)

I'm just starting out with this new company, but I'm very excited about the prospects! Everything is finally falling into place for me to get my business launched and on its way!

I LOVE working from home. Having the flexibility to work around my children's schedules is amazing. I will also be starting in the 'real' workforce before too terribly long. I'm not going to school for nothing. ;) I will, however, continue my home-based business. I absolutely LOVE it!
