I just love to read and I am finally reading "The DaVinci Code"( almost done) after I read his other book "Angels and Demons". I just saw a commercial the other night for the movie version starring Tom Hanks. I would love to see the movie but I am usually disappointed in the ones I see after I have read the book. Books are sooooooo much better in most cases. So, what are you reading these days? I always like some good suggestions for further readings down the road.

I  to read also!!

I just finished reading Sue Grafton's new book _S is for Silence_ . I have enjoyed most of her books and this one was good. Just started _The Same Sweet Girls_ by Cassandra King about the friendship of six women over the years.

Happy reading! :reading:

I'm reading one of my favorites again. Its called: Love is a Wild Assault. Yeah, it sounds like a romance novel but isn't.

Its historical fiction set in the day of Texas independence, the battle of the alamo, the victory at San Jacinto and surrounds the real woman: Harriet Porter and the men in her life (All real people with the story fluffed a bit to fill in the details).

Its a great book if you love Texas history and if you enjoy a strong women character...and a bit of romance.

I am reading Sylvia Browne's the other side and back! I love her books! It really makes you think what it is like on the other side..and i like her because she seems so real and down to earth. She tells it like it is..and says..hey you don't like it..don't read it!! She is a hoot!

I'm STILL in the process of reading Devil Wears Prada. It's about a recent college journalism graduate who wants to be a writer. She is promised an editor position at a fashion magazine if she fulfills her duties of being the Edior-in-chief's personal assistant....Miranda! Miranda is the Devil. :) I love this book because it reminds me of a past job I held. Image isn't everything.

I hope to have this book finished before it comes out to the theater sometime this year!

I am a sucker for a good love story...not the mushy ones thought. I am reading P.S. I love you by Cecila Ahearn. It's sad. The ladies husband dies, but has everything planned out for her becuase he knew what was coming. Every month she has a present from him...its really interesting and romantic!! Its taking me forever though, because school is requiring a lot of reading!!

Because I'm in college and we have to read a lot of books for classes right now I'm reading Insurgent Mexico by John Reed. It's actually not half-bad, but that's because I'm a history nerd. The last book I read that wasn't for class was Wicked. I had heard the musical first, and knew the plot line, but it wasn't like the book at all. Actually the book was a lot better. My favorite book of all-time is Ender's Game, a great science-fiction book.

I read everything Stephen King. Right now, I'm reading "Cell".
I also have book 3 of the Harry Potter series going. It's not unusual for me to have 2 or 3 books going at once. If I only wasn't so tired by the end of the day..... <yawn>....I'd get a lot more reading in!!

Last week I read lots of Poe short stories because I had my HS art kids choose one to illustrate and I needed to refresh my memory. I've also been reading the book "Body Clutter" to help me keep my enthusiasm up for the new lifestyle I'm trying to embrace. My guilt read for me was a reread of Kim Harrison's 3 witch books. I just finished the last earlier today and I'm desperately wanting the next to come out soon.

I think for me it's just the same as how I can keep track of conversations I've had with different friends and things going on in their lives. Usually each book I have on the go is a different genre so that helps too. Hard to mix up a sci fi novel with the chick lit romance :D

As a nursing student, you can be guaranteed that I'm always reading some medical book. Soon I hope to be able to start back on my leisure reading and read alot of the books listed here.

Normally I tend to read and reread classics, anything related to history, and an occasional romance novel.

I'm one of those people how HAS to read. I read the back of the toothpaste tube when I'm brushing my teeth, I read the back of the cereal box, can of soup, or whatever is near me. If there are words I'm reading them.

I don't watch much television but I'm a voracious reader... I'm not picky either... if it's got words I'll read it, any genre.

Mmm noodle soup challange and I am listening to "Little Women" (books on tape) for the crack open a book challenge. does listening to book count as reading it? At the end of every tape when the credits are listed the reader says "Thank you for be a books on tape reader." I am also listening to a book on CD called "Dating is Murder" by Harley Jane Kozak. She was in "Parenthood" as the wife of Rick Moranis. Sounds like ripoffs of, or inspirations from, Rita Mae Brown's cat detective.

I am always amused to hear how popular Brown's books are in Germany. In '33 they would have tossed her into Ravensbruck and pinned a black triangle on her...

"Three Cups of Teas" by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin. The book is about Greg's experiences in Pakistan and Afghanistan and what he hopes to accomplish by building schools there primarily for girls. I used to read all the time. Loved the Da Vinci Code, the number books by Janet Evanovich, the alphabet books by Sue Grafton.

The "cat who" books were okay, but predictable, those other cat books sound interesting. I will have to check them out at the library. Do the cats speek to people?

I'm currently just trying to keep up on my daily Bible reading and studying and reading a book called "What does the Bible really teach."

Hopefully life will slow down and I will get to do more reading.

Longitude is INCREDIBLE. Did you ever see the Hogarth print, I think it is one in the Good/Bad Apprentice Series (or maybe The Rake's Progress) where there is a guy in Bedlem, trying to create a formula for figuring out Longitude?

Can't get a hold of the Gilgamesh translation you are using.

I have read all of Nicholas Sparks books. My favorites are The Rescue and The Guardian. Books are always better than movies.
