Are there anyone who is in there 50's.
I might be the only older person here?

I just turned 46 so I'm sneaking up on 50 too :)

My DH & I are emptynester's. I'm a Grammy, I left a successful carerer three years ago for my dream job.. being a homemaker. I'm starting an intermediate pottery class on Monday and I'm really excited about it. I walk 3 miles every morning. I'm preparing for 50. I want my 50's to be AWESOME!!!

Welcome to GGG. I am also an oldie and a gran. I actually had lunch with one of my granddaughters today. She will be sixteen next week. Just to remind you all of the time difference again----It is now 23.15 GMT. We have had awful rain this week. I put a line of washing out on Mon 1st Sept and I have redone it for the 3rd time today!!!!!

I am 42 getting close to turning 43 and have 3 grandkids from my step daughter, they are alot of fun to have around. I have 2 kids of my own.....a daughter that is 18 and a son that is 7. My grandkids are 6,4 and 1.

I don't think I will have any; may be a good thing as I know that I would probably have to take care of them and his wife too; and I can barely take care of myself. !Ha
Oh, I live in Virginia.

No your not the only one! I am 53. I have 2 sons and
3 grandchildren. I work full time 5 days a week and
I am still taking a few classses for my credintial and I am enrolled in a 3 year Faith Bible Institute course. Your as young as you feel! I think the key to staying young at heart is staying active. I have always kept my self moving forward.
I think every age group has something to offer.

That's right! 50's were old when we were little kids, but now we know better. ;) They say 50's are the new 30's. My mind is willing however the body is not always so willing! Save some of your 30's energy for your 50's - I didn't and I soooo wish I would have! :eek: LOL

Well, I'm 54, will be 55 in October. I wish I had grandkids, but if my son's don't get going here I don't know if I'll ever have them!

I work part-time for our local school district as a computer tech in an elementary school. Definitely keeps me busy.

Since my sons are now on their own, I decided it's time for me! I've lost 46 pounds, have about 15 to go. I've had a few medical set backs lately, but think we have finally gotten a handle on those. I've been loving doing my daily walking, up to 4.5 miles a day.

Wow Pam congrats on the weight loss. So what's your secret? I had gotten down to my goal a couple of years ago and then had some med probs myself and the weight came back and then some (always seems to have to be 'and then some' when it comes to weight). My hubby has some what we think are stomach issues going on (he just had to have his esophagus dilated) and is having tests - but the deal is he's lost soooo much weight, so my meal planning is all about putting weight on him. Makes it hard!

Although I have one grandson who's going to be a teenager in a couple weeks, I'm soooo anxious for my youngest daughter, who is 27 to give me a couple more. That's another long story - I guess a topic starter somewhere, she's tried for a long time.

Its great to see there are so many of us young women who are old enough to be grandmas in here!!
