What eyeshadow colors are best for brown eyes? I'm a medium complexion more on the cool side, so I assume I should stick to cool & neutral shades but which ones are most flattering?

I have brown eyes, and I usually just use brown shadow, but while looking in the cosmetics aisle recently I saw that Almay has put out shadows for different eye colors. The "Trio for Brown's" was lavendar, medium brown and lighter brown. The lavendar is for the lid, the darker brown for the crease and the lighter brown for the area below the eyebrow. I haven't tried it, but may pick some up next time I need shadow.

I have brown eyes and wear all sorts of different colors of eye shadows! I love make-up! Green will make your eyes pop along with purple/lavendar. I wear those and pink, silver, copper/orange, etc. Play it up! I don't mean go wild and look like a clown. :) Another fun thing to do is go to the make-up counter, like Clinique, and have them try some colors on you. Doesn't mean you have to buy, but you can get an idea of what shades look best with your complextion. But have fun! I get tired of neutrals and like to have more color. ;)

I have brown eyes and wear all kinds of colors, depending on my mood. Usually different shades of brown or pink (think soft), but also really like different lavendar shades. I also wear mostly brown eyeliner, but gray sometimes too and that creates a nice effect.

It's not so much the color of your eyes but the color tone of your skin.
Are you warm or cool, warm- more golden or cool-more olive.

I have brown eyes and more olive skin. When I do wear eyeshadow (I hate the fuss) I wear everything from blues, browns, pinks, grey, and the various shades.

Plus how much you wear makes a difference. Usually when I wear a stronger blue, I apply more as a strong eyeliner. It's all about the statement I am making. Fashion, conservative business, etc.

Is olive towards the cool tones? I always thought it was towards the warm. It's funny that I always thought I was a warm complexion & only in the past few years after 40 I realized I'm more in the cool tones. I also never knew someone could be in the middle of "warm & cool tones". It's strange but a lot of cool colors look good on me & a lot of warm ones as well. This is why I always found it confusing.
