We live on a couple acres in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. We get waves of migrating birds.. Everything from Humming Birds to Crows. Well, about 2 months ago the Crows came through.. Hundreds of them. After a few days they began to leave.. all except a few. We noticed one of the Crows didn't fly and his wing was a slightly bent. My DH wanted to go out and shoot him and put him out of his suffering. I told my DH that the crow might just need a couple days. We witnessed a few crow stay behind and they would actually bringing him food and keep him company, until finally they had to go on with their migration.

Well it's been a couple months and Broken Wing is still here. He goes from Ranch to Ranch, but most of the time he's at our place.

The snow is on it's way. The nights are getting close to freezing. The animal control told us to go ahead and put him down. I'm actually watching him right now standing on a rock in front of our house.

What can we do about Broken Wing?

Is there a wildlife rescue group in your area? Where I grew up they would take in birds that were injured and nurse them back to health.

Take care

I like the idea of trying to find a Wildlife Rescue too.

I called the Nevada Division of Wildlife today and left a message. I'll let you know what ends up happening.
