The outcome of the election didn't leave me celebrating, but I don't go around making rude remarks about Obama.

I do understand that many people are excited that their candidate won, it's not cool to go rubbing it in peoples faces. A couple of people I know are just urking me with their gloating.

I know what you mean. I'm not celebrating either.
I don't know why some people just have to "rub it in our face".
I hope that the next 4 years go by quickly & without BIG problems!!

This election brought out the worst in some people. I was hoping the imaturity that came out with people being downright rude and insulting to those who weren't in their "camp" (either side) before the election would end once the results were in and I find it very sad that it continues now.

In the name of equal time for both candidates...I'm sick of the Obama supporters gloating and tired of the McCain supporters insulting those who didn't agree with them.

It's ok to express concerns and happiness about the outcome of the election, but the ones who go to extreme need to get over it and put that energy into something useful.

Take care

I think it is going to be a while before people shed much of their bitterness that came out in this election. Some may not be able to do it either. It was a nasty campaign on both sides, neither side was immune.

You might want to view it in a different light. Perhaps USA citizens who have been suffering in one respect or another for the last eight years, or who have not been proud of the leadership decisions made by the president of their nation, are in relief that better times "may" be ahead.

If you are a USA citizen who has been enjoying life in the past eight years, then it's certainly no wonder you cannot relate or understand those who are celebrating.

You mean the last eight years haven't been ones of excellence for all US citizens?

I think us Americans have all been suffering for a lot longer than 8 years. If you ask me...It's been heading on a steady decline for a couple decades.

You are incorrectly reading between the lines... I said nothing against people celebrating and being excited that their candidate won. I'm saying it's not nice to be "rude" about it and knowingly rub it in the faces of those who's candidate didn't win. This has nothing to do with 8 years of Bush, this has to do with CLASS!

Hey, I was just seconding Carmen, she brought it up!

And I am also delighted to see that the fundamentalists here in Israel lost the City Hall elections in Jerusalem yesterday -- about time!

They were making a disgrace out of our capital city.

I think this is where I close the discussion. This IS about class and kindness. To suggest that we have been suffering under the past 8 years of leadership (while we were attacked 8 years ago and then protected and never attacked again) is not appropriate.

We could go back another 8 years and discuss a sex scandal in the oval office and ask if our citizens and the world were thrilled and impressed with that one....

So let's not turn this into a backhandededness towards our previous presidents.

We obviously have a difference in worldviews represented here.

(And no backhanded comments about the censorship of this site. Our current president elect is the king of censorship. As owner of this board it is my perogative.)
