Anyone like going to Vegas? There is so much to do and see there. Do you have a favorite show there or favorite hotel or restaurant to recommend? We saw "O" at the Bellagio the last time we were there. Fabulous!! :dance1:

We have been several times, and one of my favorite things we did was go to Stratosphere (the space needle thing). The view was awesome from the top, and there are actually some amusement rides up there!! http://www.stratospherehotel.com/las_vegas_stratosphere_ride.html Ack, I was queasy enough just being at the top, thank you!!.
We also went to a show called Viva Las Vegas. http://www.stratospherehotel.com/viva_las_vegas_show.html It only plays in the afternoon, and is rated G so my young daughters could see it too! They had magic, singing, dancing (my DDs loved the "sparkle girls"), and an Elvis impersonator that made us all swoon & giggle. The price was very reasonable also (under $20.00)!!
We have also enjoyed the M&M store, and the indoor amusement park at Circus Circus. I love just seeing the "themes" of all the different hotels/casinos. We stayed at the Paris when it first opened, and they had the smell of fresh bread piped in everywhere... lol
Great topic
I've only been to the Las Vegas airport. Talk about culture shock with all the slot machines there in the airport! I couldn't believe it. And just sitting around, you get to see a mesh of all sorts of people. It's a great people watching place. ;) I do hope to visit the actually city with the hotels, shows and restaurants. It looks like so much fun!

N9NE Steakhouse located at The Palms Hotel and Casino is a great place to dine, but make reservations way in advance or it is hard to get in. Wonderful place to eat and people watch.

Business took me there monthly for the last 4 years for a minimum of a week a month. I worked and I played.
There are lots of great places to stay, things to do, shows to see and meals to eat. *omg* And OMG I alsmost forgot the shopping!!! Highend, to highend outlet, to down and dirty swap meet.
It all depends on your budget and desires, email me and I can probably help out with some recommedations. :D !!!!.

Going to Vegas in October (during Halloween!) and can't wait to go. Went there 2 years ago and stayed at New York-New York. The hotel was wonderful, and they have a little deli in the food court area that had fantastic corned beef sandwiches!
We're thinking about staying at Paris this time around, any comments?

I went about 10 years ago, for 3 days and 2 nights. I enjoyed Sigfreid & Roy, and am grateful that I wasn't there when the tiger attacked Roy. I saw the Rockettes at The Pink Flamingo, but it was the in-between acts that were so good. The prime rib dinner was soooo good, too! Caeser's Palace is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and the MGM Grand has a pretty good theme park. I would love to go back to Vegas...I think it's something that everyone should do at least once in their lifetime.

:hellowave Charger,
I haven't been to Vegas in over 11 years. It was one of the stops on our honeymoon. We had a blast. We mainly hit the strip and old downtown, gambled alot. ;) We've often talked about going back, but thus far haven't made it. I have heard alot about how the city has grown and there is so much to see and do. Have fun on your trip. :dancepart

If you are an Elton John fan, his concert/show at Ceasers is not to be missed. Multi - media killer concert!!! His was the first concert I saw at age 16.
I took my dear sweet understanding husband after our first anniversary (I scheduled myself in Las Vegas for work on our anniversary-:duh: !!!) So I bought tickets and brought him with me later. They are pricey but well worth the price, and if you can be flexible on the night you will see him you can arrange to get a better deal.
I'll tell you a little know fact- If money is no object purchase 1st or 2nd row orchestra seats because at some point you get to go up on stage, next to him playing the red piano!!!
What a treat and a great surprise gift for whoever goes with you.

Never been but I want to go. I probably wouldn't gamble too much. I wouldn't mind seeing Celine in concert. Cheesy I know, but hey, I heard they have a lot of good shows! OH! The M&M factory is in or near Vegas and I want to go there!!! :)

I love hearing about all your experiences and suggestions in Vegas! My favorite hotel/casino downtown is the Golden Nugget. There was a place there to get a late night meal of an open face sandwich with turkey, gravy and mashed potatoes!! Great comfort food! :D
Jen - I love Paris. We stayed there over labor day weekend last year. Its got a great breakfast buffet and a fun dueling piano bar. The casino is bright and open with blue skies and clouds. This time we are staying at Bally's (Paris is booked) but it's connected to Paris, so its almost like being at the same hotel....just have to walk a little further :)
I am sure Elton and Celine do fabulous shows. A friend of mine has been to Celine's and she was not disappointed. I have heard Danny Gan's (impersonator) does an impressive show....anyone seen that?
Kim - you should go again!! You will be amazed how much it has grown.

Does it count that I live here?
:p
Definitely fun, no matter where you go.
Always something to do, 24 hours a day.
Concerts are always fun, and show's are great too, especially for the locals who can get discounts!
I guess there are just too many to list.
Penny - somewhere in Las Vegas :-D

so I'm sorta kicking this thread back up - haven't booked my hotel yet.
Anyone been recently? Looking at all the sites on the internet is just too dazzling for my mind to handle at once!
