Does anyone here shop the Black Friday sales? I am not much for crowds so rarely venture out. Dh wanted to go, but I said unless he had a list in hand of what he wanted I wasn't going. And I wasn't getting up at 3 in the morning! I rarely get to sleep in and the day after Thanksgiving is one of those rare days that I don't have much to do so don't worry about getting up at a certain time. I got up about 8:15am and we lounged around the house. We did venture out for some errands. Stopped at Lowe's, while the parking lot was full, the store was empty. They had all the checkouts open, but the checkers were milling about with nothing to do.
We did have to drive by the mall and it was packed! Dh wanted to hit Best Buy but when he saw the parking lot he bypassed it. ;)
Anyways, our extent of shopping on Black Friday was some lights for the light pole in our backyard and some fire ant bait. :signlol:

I usually don't venture out on Black Friday. I prefer not to shop in such crowds. We slept in today and are watching football.

We just came back from going to Fry's to look for some Blue Ray DVD's. It really wasn't that bad. There was a line, but it moved quickly. We were in and out in probably under 20 minutes. Would've been less, but dh had to browse. :signlol: We got some good deals on Blue Ray's and dh got a few deals for office presents.

I stayed home and threw pottery all day.
I used to work in retail while I was in college and try to avoid shopping on that day as much as possible. However I do like checking out what the deals are.
Every year, I get the email alerts of the Black Friday deals and always get the newspaper to see what's on sale, but rarely venture out to the sales. For the last couple of years there have been a few great one time deals, but many of the prices seem to pop up again.
I think most Black Friday shoppers head out early for the doorbusters, if you go out later in the day, you may not get the best bargains, but you do miss most of the crowds.
Take care

I usually stay home and avoid the crowds. But my DD and her MIL wanted to go shopping so I went with them. DD's MIL bought quite a bit and I found a few things. We headed out shortly after 5am. We found some stores had looooong lines while others weren't as bad. Penney's had some great sales on towells and linens.

Mom and I go every year. This year we stayed in the local town and only had Wal-mart to choose from. When we go to the city there are a lot of choices that we divide and conquer.
There was not much in the sales this year and I had a portion of my shopping already done that this year was quick. The big item I needed was a new printer and I got that.
I was back home and in bed by 7AM.
