Can anyone recommend any good Christian Fiction books? I have read quite a few and am always looking for new authors or books. I have read the Sisterchick Series, Yadda Yadda Prayer Group to name a few. Thanks in advance!!!

There's the CS Lewis _Cosmic Trilogy_. The science is badly dated (it's sci-fi), but the thoughts behind in are still valid.
The last one was a tad nasty-sexist though, but the man could think and write and make you think.

Thanks Marian! I have never read any of C.S. Lewis' work. I have never heard anything bad about it though. Not a huge sci-fi fan, but I will look into it.

Hi! I have read lots of Francine Rivers books...she is an awesome Christian fiction writer. I recommend "Leota's Garden" and "Redeeming Love" by her. Some of her books are actually in the historical fiction genre, based on people who lived in Biblical times. Also good is Terri Blackstock, Karen Kingsbury, Lynn Ausin and Randy Alcorn, to name just a few! I usually find a good Christian author, then search online to find the books they have written...that way I know what to look for at the library or bookstore when I go out to find one! Hope this helps!!

Thanks Lavendergrey! I have read some of those authors, but some are new to me. I will definitely be checking them out. I do the same thing as you when I stumble upon a new author. Always on the look out for a new one!

I really like the left behind series. I read another book, not sure the name but it was good, it was called The Birthright. I currently have the Chronicles of Narnia, but well, have not got into reading them yet.

The Narnia books are the best.
It's no wonder that Rowling admits she was inspired by them.

Hi,
Would love to know if there are any mystery books with a Christian theme to them. Not really a romance or drama reader.....
Thanks for any help

There are some suspense/intrique books by Christian authors out there. I have wanted to read some of them but havn't done it yet. If you go to www.christianbooks.com you can narrow down books by the type of book. They have everything from suspense to romance. Plus, their prices are pretty reasonable.

I love Jerry Jenkins and Tim LaHaye (Left Behind Series). As far as seperately goes, I like Jerry Jenkins better than Tim LaHaye. I also love Frank Peretti, Ted Dekker, Randy Alcorn and Max Lucado. The Narnia series are awesome. I have read the whole series with my oldest and getting ready to do the same with my other 2. I'm not a big romance fan, love mysterious and suspence books. If I think of anymore, I'll let you know.

i love Lori Wick books. They are so wonderful. She has several series that really get you close to the characters and leave you wondering what the characters are doing now! I really find myself having to remember they are only fictional characters!!

The Mitford series written by Jan Karon are great. The series revoles around a middle aged pastor and the town he lives in "Mitford". They are an easy read but you do get pulled into the whole town and their lives. I also love Francine Rivers, her characters always inspire me to be the best I can be.

I have just finished reading "The DaVinci Code" by Dan Brown. It makes you think and go "Hmmm, I never thought about that before." Also anything by Sylvia Browne is also very interesting.

Ya know, a friend of mine in high school -- over thirty years ago! -- offered the same idea to a rather shocked 10th grade home room!
