My hubby has been told after working for his company for 21 years that people may be laid off. I let go of my position in March as a business owner because of the economy. My customers were canceling left and right.
My husband's is the only working income we have. I don't want him to lose his job, however, I do not just pray for his job, I pray for the others that work with him and even the competitors. Please touch and agree with me that these people will have sources of income from the One who is our Jehova Jirah!

We went through the same thing last month. My DH still has his job, but 300 other's in the company lost theirs.
Very sad. Prayers coming your way.

And not just for people out of work -- for the people with reduced hours, too.
I was stunned when a waiter in a Las Vegas hotel (just came back from vacation in the USA) told me that he, and all the hotell employees, were cut back to 30 hour weeks, at Nevada minium wage.
That and no health coverage.
How they are (and all the others) are going to pull through, is beyond me.
And some author was on the news yesterday whining about the $4 million she lost in a Ponzi scheme. What nerve!!!!!

These are indeed terrible times. My brother-in-law lost his job; his wife works two jobs, but they may still lose their house. We sent them some money but we know that's only a patch over a gaping wound. My husband and I were both out of work at the same time several years ago so we know how scary that is. I will think good thoughts for everyone suffering and fearful right now about what the future holds. :comfort:
My sister, who works for the Salvation Army, says that donations are up this year. She couldn't figure out why, but I told her it's because those who realize how fortunate they are to be keeping their heads above water are giving to help those who don't. Doesn't that make you feel better about this country's future? ;)
